Original job description
We are seeking a strategic, growth-minded Marketing Technology Lead Developer to own the technical direction and governance of our public-facing digital properties and integrated marketing technology ecosystem. Operating at the intersection of full-stack software engineering, digital marketing, and MarTech infrastructure, this individual will serve as the primary technical partner for our marketing teams-turning our website into a high-performance engine for user acquisition while ensuring clean, scalable, and secure architecture across all integrated systems.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1. MarTech Infrastructure & Platform Governance
- Technical Advisory & Tool Onboarding: Act as the primary full-stack technical lead when marketing teams evaluate, select, and implement new technologies-vetting third-party platforms for security, API capabilities, performance impacts, and technical fit before integration.
- Stack Governance & Administration: Serve as the technical administrator and owner of our integrated MarTech stack, ensuring system uptime, security, custom webhooks/API integrations, and data hygiene across our Website CMS (Webflow), Customer Data Platform (CDP), and marketing applications.
- Architecture & Data Flow: Design, build, and maintain the technical infrastructure that powers customer data collection, event tracking, automation, personalization, and cross-channel Agentic Marketing.
2. Front-End Architecture & Web Engine Leadership
- Architect the Webflow Ecosystem: Build and maintain a scalable, component-based architecture in Webflow. Ensure the site is modular, enabling the marketing team to spin up high-converting landing pages independently.
- Bridge Software Engineering & Marketing: Handle complex, full-stack requirements beyond low-code-including custom JavaScript/React integrations, headless components using Next.js, or navigating legacy PHP environments (e.g., Drupal) when necessary.
- Performance & Technical SEO: Maintain relentless focus on Core Web Vitals, page load speed, schema markup, and technical SEO to optimize AI & Organic search visibility and user experience.
3. Growth Engineering & Analytics Integration
- Enable High-Velocity Experimentation: Build the technical foundation for dynamic A/B testing, multivariate experimentation, and real-time user personalization engines.
- Analytics & Growth Stack Integration: Maintain seamless data flow between front-end web properties and backend marketing solutions (Google Tag Manager, HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.), ensuring every event or signal is accurately captured.
4. Technical Leadership & Agile Execution
- Team Technical Lead: Act as the primary technical lead supporting Agile Development work including peer reviews. Ensure smooth Sprint deployments and maintain technical standards in a CI/CD practice.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Background: Profile of a Staff Engineer or Senior Full-Stack Web Developer with 5-8+ years of web development experience and a proven track record of supporting marketing initiatives in a fast-paced B2C, SaaS, or high-growth environment.
- MarTech & Tool Integration Knowledge: Demonstrated experience vetting, onboarding, and governing third-party MarTech software, including Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), CRM personalization engines, and automated Marketing Ops/Ad Ops workflows.
- Webflow Expertise: Deep experience building scalable, modular Webflow architectures, custom code components, injection, advanced CMS collections, and API integrations.
- Multi-Faceted Engineering Skills: Strong proficiency in modern JavaScript frameworks (React, Next.js) and API/headless architectures, with comfort managing server/hosting environments (Vercel, Cloudflare) and legacy PHP frameworks (e.g., Drupal).
- Growth Mindset: Strong passion for Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO), web performance tuning, data accuracy, and leveraging modern AI/Agentic marketing approaches to automate customer journeys.
- Agile Leadership: Experience leading technical execution, conducting code reviews, and coordinating release schedules across cross-functional DEV, QA, and UX team members.
