Role Description
We are seeking a Family Law Associate for a full-time, on-site position in Oshawa, managing a caseload of family law matters from intake through resolution, mediation, arbitration, or court.
Responsibilities:
- Manage an active caseload of family law files (custody, support, property division, divorce)
- Represent clients at case conferences, motions, settlement conferences, mediation, arbitration, TMC, and court
- Draft and review pleadings, financial statements, and settlement agreements
- Advise clients directly on case strategy, options, and status
- Liaise with opposing counsel and court staff, and negotiate resolutions where appropriate
- Direct and review the work of clerks and legal assistants assigned to files
