Original job description

Company Description 3D Vector Inc. is a Canada-based engineering and design company specializing in advanced 3D printing, scanning, and reverse engineering solutions. The team combines decades of experience in engineering, design, and manufacturing to deliver high-quality, innovative products and services. Using technologies such as Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS), and Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS), 3D Vector helps clients bring complex ideas to life. The company is recognized as one of Canada’s leading 3D printing and engineering service providers, known for its technical expertise, use of cutting-edge tools, and commitment to strict quality standards. 3D Vector emphasizes customized solutions, collaborating closely with clients to meet specific project goals and requirements.
Role Description The 3D CAD Designer will create detailed 3D models, assemblies, and technical drawings to support product development, prototyping, and manufacturing. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Mississauga, ON, with a mix of on-site collaboration and some work-from-home flexibility. Day-to-day responsibilities include interpreting design requirements, developing and revising CAD models, preparing construction and fabrication drawings, and ensuring designs comply with engineering and quality standards. The designer will collaborate with engineers, project managers, and production teams to optimize designs for various 3D printing technologies and reverse engineering projects. The role also involves documenting design changes, maintaining organized CAD files, and contributing to continuous improvement of design workflows and best practices.
Qualifications

Strong computer-aided design skills, including Computer-Aided Design (CAD) and Design Engineering, with experience producing accurate 3D models and assemblies.
Proficiency in Technical Drawing, Drawing, and Construction Drawings to create clear, manufacturing-ready documentation.
Experience working with 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or reverse engineering workflows is an asset.
Ability to interpret engineering requirements, specifications, and standards, and translate them into robust design solutions.
Solid problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with cross-functional teams in a hybrid environment.
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
Familiarity with quality control practices and version control for design files is beneficial.
