Title: HCM Specialist (Workday)

Department: Human Resources

Total Potential Compensation: $95,000 - $115,000

Position Summary:

The HCM Specialist is an on-site role based at 407 ETR's Woodbridge office. The individual will be reporting to the Team Leader, Human resources and will be responsible for supporting the ongoing administration, configuration, reporting, troubleshooting, security, testing, and continuous improvement of Workday, with a primary focus on Workday Financials functionality and related HCM system touchpoints. This role supports system accuracy, process efficiency, data integrity, user access, and issue resolution, while working closely with Finance, HR, IT, and, external vendors , to ensure Workday processes operate effectively across connected business areas. This position does not include payroll processing responsibilities.

Position Responsibilities:

Provide day-to-day support for Workday, with a primary focus on Workday Financials functionality, including configuration, business processes, workflows, reporting, integrations, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and end-user support.
Serve as a key Workday system resource for financial and HCM-related processes that intersect with Finance, HR, Payroll, and business operations, while partnering closely with the Payroll and HCM Specialist to ensure upstream and downstream processes, data, reporting, and security access are coordinated and accurate.
Support Workday Financials areas such as cost centers, work tags, organizational structures, supplier/customer-related data, accounting support processes, and financial reporting requirements, as applicable.
Administer Workday security by coordinating access requests, creating and maintaining security groups, reviewing role assignments, testing security changes, resolving access issues, and supporting periodic access reviews.
Gather, analyze, document, and validate business requirements for Workday configuration changes, reporting needs, approved minor enhancements, and process improvements.
Configure, test, troubleshoot, and support Workday business processes and system functionality to resolve issues, prevent recurrence, improve controls, and enhance the end-user experience.
Develop, maintain, and validate Workday reports, dashboards, calculated fields, and audit reports to support Finance, HR, and leadership decision-making.
Conduct regular system audits, data integrity reviews, reconciliation activities, and quality assurance checks to identify risks, validate system accuracy, strengthen controls, and ensure reliable Workday information.
Participate in Workday release management activities, including reviewing release notes, assessing impacts, completing regression testing, documenting outcomes, and supporting deployment readiness.
Maintain process documentation, configuration records, testing evidence, training materials, and support resources to strengthen governance, audit readiness, knowledge transfer, and user adoption.
Work with Finance, HR, IT, Payroll and external vendors/consultants to investigate system issues, coordinate resolutions, implement approved changes, and support special projects, Workday enhancements, governance activities, and other HR systems initiatives as assigned.

Qualifications:

College diploma or university degree in Business Administration, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
Minimum three to five years of experience supporting Finance systems, HRIS, ERP, Workday, or related business systems.
Hands-on experience with Workday Financials, HCM, Prism, Extend, reporting, security administration, business process configuration, or testing is required.
Workday certification or formal training in areas such as Financials, HCM, Payroll, Recruiting/ATS, Learning, Reporting, Security, or Business Processes is considered an asset.
Strong understanding of system configuration, data integrity, security access, reporting, workflow design, and change control practices.
Working knowledge of finance-related processes such as cost centers, work tags, financial reporting, reconciliation, accounting support, or supplier/customer data is an asset.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Ability to translate business requirements into system solutions, reporting outputs, test plans, and user documentation.
Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, vendors, and end users.
Ability to manage competing priorities, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment when working with sensitive employee, financial, and system access information.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
