Our client, a product engineering team, is looking for a contract Software Developer to help improve software for an interactive hardware product (haptics and robotics). The work is split between new features and making builds repeatable and shippable.
What you'll do
- Build and improve CI/CD pipelines for a Windows hardware+software product, including packaging and releases
- Develop and debug C# and C++ code (roughly 60/40) that works with sensors, actuators and hardware
- Test and troubleshoot software on real prototypes and test setups
- Work with mechanical and electrical engineers, and sometimes with the client directly
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of software development, including production builds, automation, robotics or control systems
- Strong C# and C++ on Windows (DLLs, executables)
- Hands-on CI/CD and build/release experience
- A plus: embedded or real-time systems, CAN/I2C/SPI, MATLAB/Simulink, Linux
The contract
- 2-9 months, full-time (40 hours a week), with possible conversion to permanent
- On-site in Montreal (hardware access is needed)
- Rate: Targeting $85-$90/hr with some flexibility
