Original job description

About Abacum

Abacum is the leading Business Planning solution for finance teams to drive performance. By automating reporting, enabling collaboration, and simplifying planning and forecasting, we help finance teams shift from number crunching to driving strategic decisions.

Founded in 2020 by two former CFOs, we’ve grown into a global team of 100+ people across 30+ nationalities. Headquartered in New York , we have offices in Toronto and Barcelona. We’re trusted by industry leaders such as Dish Networks, Strava, BetterUp, Kajabi, JG Wentworth, Abridge, Cortex , and hundreds more.

We have raised over $100m, closing in June 2025 our $60M Series B, led by Scale Venture Partners , with the strong participation of Cathay Innovation, Y Combinator , Atomico, Creandum, and angel operators from Adyen, Zapier, and Twitch.

Our mission is ambitious and we can’t do it alone - join Abacum as we build the future of Business Planning!

We’re looking for a commercially-minded finance professional to partner closely with our Sales team to build high-impact Proofs of Concept (POCs) for prospective customers. This role sits at the intersection of finance, go-to-market and product, translating real-world business problems into financial models and compelling narratives that drive deal success. In addition to building POCs, you will play a key role in owning and evolving our demo environments, ensuring they reflect our latest product capabilities and effectively support our GTM strategy.

What You’ll Do

Partner with Sales to design and build POCs that demonstrate value to prospective customers
Translate customer requirements into Abacum models and beautiful dashboards
Work across industries, quickly ramping on new business models and metrics
Own and maintain demo environments, ensuring they are always up-to-date, reliable, and aligned with GTM needs
Create new demo assets and use cases to support different segments, industries, and sales motions
Bring new product developments into demo environments, translating features into compelling, real-world scenarios
Help shape repeatable POC frameworks, demo templates, and playbooks

What We’re Looking For

2–5 years experience in FP&A, Finance, Investment Banking, Consulting, or similar
Strong financial modeling skills (Excel / Google Sheets proficiency is essential)
Solid understanding of:
Ability to structure ambiguous problems quickly with a commercial mindset
High learning velocity - comfortable picking up new tools (e.g. Abacum) fast

Nice-to-have

Experience in pre-sales, solutions engineering, or customer-facing analytics roles
Experience building or maintaining demo environments or product showcases
Exposure to financial planning tools / BI tools
Startup or high-growth environment experience

What Makes This Role Unique

You’ll sit closer to revenue than traditional finance roles
Direct ownership of both deal-critical POCs and demo experience
High impact on how the product is positioned and experienced by prospects
Exposure to multiple industries and business models
Blend of analytical depth + storytelling + product thinking

Benefits

Competitive compensation including equity package
Competitive vacation policy
Medical Insurance
L&D budget
Access to Meditopia (wellbeing platform)
Language courses (English / Spanish)

Our Values

_ Customer Obsession: _ We share the understanding that Abacum's sole purpose is to create value for customers and relentlessly deploy all creativity and energy to that end.

_ Audacious Ambition: _ We dream big and embrace discomfort. We assume risks, make on-time mistakes and learn how to methodically accomplish our goals.

_ Good People: _ We are self-reflective and praise diversity of thought. We don't justify the end with the means and know where to draw the line. We have fun every day.

_ Tough Love: _ We truly care for everyone in the team and embrace honest feedback and radical candor as ways to genuinely help each other.

Qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender perception or identity, national origin, age, marital status, protected veteran status, or disability status.
