The quality and innovative engineering behind our products, systems, and services allows our customers to stay at the forefront. Developing solutions for our clients around the world and working with our cutting‑edge technologies will stimulate and enrich both your work and your mind.
The ABB Measurement & Analytics facility in Quebec is the global leader in spectroscopy. Our contract engineering department is the largest Canadian supplier of spaceborne optical sensors used for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and global weather forecasting, among other applications. Our plant is recognized for its expertise in developing and manufacturing a range of products that enable us to meet many industrial analysis needs on a daily basis.
By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Quebec (Canada), you will be part of a dynamic and multidisciplinary team. You will supervise and guide the development of instruments in the space and defense (SDS) sector. You will be responsible for ensuring their successful delivery - on time, on budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards.
The engineer or scientist we are seeking has strong analytical skills, is autonomous, able to work within a multidisciplinary team, and has experience in research and development for the design and analysis of space instrument systems.

- Define the effort required to meet current objectives and monitor estimates.
- Assist the project manager with strategic planning, execution, and project cost tracking.
- Manage requirements, design, system compliance, performance tracking, and technical risk management.
- Document current work methods, recommend improvements, and help implement changes.
- Organize and contribute to presentations - in French and English - to customers or to the technical team during design reviews or other milestones.
- Bachelor’s degree in science or engineering, or equivalent, with 15 years of experience as a system lead or senior system engineer.
- Experience in developing infrared optical instruments for space missions or remote sensing.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making abilities.
- Demonstrated ability to produce clear and concise project documentation and to manage product configuration.
- Ability to work with standard procedures and methodologies for space operations and contribute to the evolution toward Space 2.0.
- Proficiency with the following tools: JIRA, Windchill, MS Project, Office suite.
- Bilingual French–English (spoken and written). French is required. English is also required for regular communication with clients outside Quebec.
We empower you to take initiative, challenge ideas, and lead with confidence. You’ll grow through meaningful work, continuous learning, and support that’s tailored to your goals. Every idea you share and every action you take contributes to something bigger.
