AbbVie Canada is seeking an inspiring people leader and strategic thinker for the Manager, Market Analytics & Business Intelligence (MABI) position within our Winning with Data team.

In this leadership role, your primary focus will be guiding high-performing analysts, championing organizational change, and shaping long-range commercial strategies. Backed by your leadership, technical data solutions will be leveraged to drive actionable business insights across our brand and sales portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

Talent Development & Coaching: Mentor MABI analysts in critical soft skills (influencing without authority, executive presentation) alongside technical growth.
Change Management: Drive organizational change through structured performance appraisals, professional development planning, and succession mapping.
Capacity & Project Prioritization: Streamline ad-hoc intake requests and focus the team on high-impact projects to optimize individual capacity.
Strategic Influence: Challenge and advise Brand and in-field teams using objective market data to shape corporate objectives and long-range brand plans.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner closely with Business Unit Heads, Marketing, Sales, and IFT Sales & Marketing Excellence teams to align commercial execution.
Executive Storytelling: Transform technical data reports into compelling executive narratives focused on actionable "so what?" and "now what?" insights.
Sales Force Planning & Modeling: Lead commercial modeling and sales force allocation efforts, providing analytics that support incentive plan design and payout accuracy, while overseeing clear communication and successful roll-out of the plan.
Industry & Data Fluency: Leverage deep familiarity with pharmaceutical business models and standard datasets (e.g., IQVIA).
Innovation & Governance: Collaborate with Data Solutions teams to pilot AI-driven efficiencies while maintaining strict data privacy, compliance, and single-source-of-truth standards.
Administrative: Regularly assess and negotiate with current and prospective market research suppliers to maximize business value and manage costs. Ensure all supplier and departmental documentation, contracts, and project records are completed, organized, and retained in compliance with relevant policies and procedures. Maintain audit-ready documentation for all market research and sales planning activities.
Global Collaboration: Foster a relationship with the affiliate MABI Leads in other countries and with the International MABI team to enhance collaboration, communication and alignment on common areas of focus.

Qualifications

Required Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in sciences, business administration, business analytics, statistics, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
Minimum 5–8 years of related experience is required.
Experience should include 3–5 years in a pharmaceutical commercial role and 2–3 years in market research.
Previous people management experience is required.
Successful track record in product or brand market research is required.

Advanced understanding of brand financial models, and qualitative and quantitative market research methodologies.
Broad knowledge of pharmaceutical market tracking data, tools, systems, industry practices, and new developments.
Understanding of the brand planning cycle, basic marketing principles, organizational processes, and financial processes.
Project management experience and ability to manage operational and project budgets.

Language, Travel & Other Requirements

AbbVie aims to offer a French-speaking workplace in Quebec and has made efforts to limit English requirements. However, advanced English skills are essential for this role because the position involves working with English-speaking employees, clients, and regions outside Quebec.
Advanced computer skills, including daily use of MS Office applications and work with specific databases.
Beginner-level database programming or programming language requirements.
Travel within Canada and International: approximately 5-10%, valid passport required.
Valid driver’s license required.
Availability outside business hours: approximately 10%.
