Location: 1 Jim Flaherty St., Whitby, ON
Assignment: Hourly, Part-Time.
Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour. We also offer access to our superb sport, fitness, and recreational facilities.

The Position:
Reporting to the Senior Coordinator, Fieldhouse and Rentals, the Rentals and Events Associate will be an ambassador for external rentals and events, monitoring rental activities, and ensuring events run smoothly from beginning to end.
What You’ll Do:
Rentals and Events
- You will review the expectations from the Senior Coordinator to develop knowledge of all rentals and events taking place during your shift
- You will assist rentals and events with set-up as outlined in the documentation provided, this could include:
- Tables and Chairs
- Audio-Visual Technology, such as speakers, microphones, and projector
- Sports Equipment, such as volleyball/soccer/pickleball nets, or sweeping basketball courts
- You will support in the delivery of rentals and events, this could include:
- Greeting guests and users to the facility
- Answering questions and providing directions to those unfamiliar with the facility
- Enforcing health and safety rules and protocols
- Ensuring equipment is being used responsibility and put away accordingly
- When not directly supporting a rental or event, you will:
- Conduct cleanliness checks and conduct cleaning as necessary
- Ensure rentals and events equipment are where they should be and in good working order for future use
- Be an ambassador of the Centre, promoting the opportunity to host events and rent space to general users
Birthday Parties
- You will set up the room as outlined in the documentation provided, this could include:
- Tables and Chairs
- Decorations like balloons and tablecloths
- Food requirements like napkins, plates, cutlery, cups, etc.
- You will guide guests in an activity such as soccer, basketball, dodgeball, etc.
- You will support throughout the event as party host. This will include picking up the pizza in the atrium from the preferred vendor and bringing it up to the group
- You will answer questions and provide directions to those unfamiliar with the facility, and will uphold health and safety expectations

- You will cultivate an inclusive and welcoming environment resulting in an exceptional guest experience

- You will establish rapport and maintain effective relationships with members, staff, volunteers, visitors, and community partners
What You Bring:
Education and Experience
- You are currently in high school or are a high school graduate.
- You have experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, or events.

Administrative Requirements
- It is required that you have a current, clear vulnerable sector check (V.S.C)
- It is required that you have a current, valid First Aid and C.P.R C / A.E.D.
Availability
- It is required that you have flexible availability to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
