Role Description The Senior Java Software Engineer will work on designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade applications using Java and related frameworks. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing microservices, writing clean and efficient code, performing code reviews, troubleshooting production issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams such as product management, QA, and DevOps. The engineer will contribute to architectural decisions, ensure adherence to best practices, and participate in improving system performance, scalability, and reliability. This is a contract position based in Quebec, Canada in a hybrid work model, combining on-site collaboration with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Java and general Programming skills for building robust, scalable applications.
- Hands-on experience with the Spring Framework and related libraries for enterprise application development.
- Practical knowledge of Microservices architecture and Software Development best practices for distributed systems.
- Experience with RESTful APIs, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) is highly beneficial.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and version control systems such as Git.
- Ability to analyze requirements, design technical solutions, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Background in performance tuning, security practices, and high-availability systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
