Tasks
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
- Empty trash cans and other waste containers
- Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs
- Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment
- Perform minor repairs on appliances
- Perform safety and security checks
- Show apartments and offices to prospective tenants
- Supervise other workers
- Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
- Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair

Responsibilities
Clean and maintain floors, windows, bathrooms, and other areas; remove waste and snow; and care for plants and grounds. Perform minor repairs and safety checks, coordinate major repairs with tradespeople or contractors, show properties to prospective tenants, and supervise workers as needed.
Requirements
A secondary school graduation certificate or equivalent experience is required, along with 1 to less than 2 years of experience in cleaning. The role requires physical work, including handling heavy loads, and calls for dependability, communication, flexibility, initiative, judgment, organization, and reliability; a criminal record check and Child Abuse Registry check are also listed.
