Job Title: Embedded Software Engineer

Job Description

As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will own the software architecture, drive customer requirements and bug resolution, design new features, mentor engineers, improve processes, and provide technical leadership across the product.

Responsibilities

Drive software requirements from customers
Design and architect new features
Develop software solutions
Resolve defects and customer issues
Mentor junior engineers
Review architecture and design decisions
Improve engineering processes
Evaluate tools and automation opportunities
Work across the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Support migration to new hardware, processors, and platforms when required

Essential Skills

3-7 years of experience with Embedded C++
Experience with Embedded Linux or Linux-based networking systems
Knowledge in the optical networking domain including EDFA, Raman, WSS, OCM, and Layer 0/1
Proficiency in software architecture and system-level design
Familiarity with network management technologies such as YANG, NETCONF, SONiC, OpenConfig, gRPC, and CLI

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Proficiency in Python, C/C++ (11/14/17 acceptable)
Experience with Git/GitHub, CI/CD, Jenkins, and Jira
Understanding of optical networking elements such as Raman Amplifiers, WSS, OCM, OSC, Layer 0, and Layer 1
