Job Title: Engineering Coordinator
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Coordinator to support the reconstruction of two 6 MW hydroelectric generating stations in the Sudbury area. This role involves leading engineering coordination among the owner, engineering partners, and construction team, with a primary focus on advancing electrical scopes through construction and commissioning. The position requires a schedule-driven professional capable of ensuring engineering deliverables and design revisions align with project execution objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead electrical engineering coordination between the owner, engineering consultants, and construction teams.
- Coordinate electrical scopes with mechanical, civil, and structural disciplines.
- Ensure engineering deliverables, design revisions, and field requirements align with construction schedules and project milestones.
- Review IFC drawings, design changes, technical documentation, and field issues to support project execution.
- Interface regularly with owner representatives, site management, consultants, and subcontractors.
- Drive schedule-related engineering requirements and support stakeholders in resolving design, constructability, and installation challenges.
- Provide onsite technical support and guidance to project teams throughout construction and commissioning activities.
- Support RFIs, field modifications, design clarifications, and turnover activities.
- Promote safe work practices in an active hydroelectric construction environment.
Essential Skills
- Electrical engineering.
- Experience in hydroelectric powerhouse projects.
- Coordination experience with at least three of the following: cabling, generator systems, P&C, transformers, switchgear, MCCs.
- Experience coordinating electrical engineering with mechanical and civil scopes.
- Experience reviewing single-lines, schematics, cable schedules, equipment layouts, and vendor drawings.
- Experience managing RFIs, submittals, field changes, and constructability issues.
- Experience aligning engineering deliverables with construction schedules, outages, and installation sequencing.
- Experience supporting testing, commissioning, energization, or turnover.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- P.Eng certification.
- Relationships within OPG and KGS.
- Experience with outage coordination.
- Experience with project closeout and turnover packages.
- Proficiency in engineering document control.
- Experience with P6 or Procore.
Work Environment
This is a full-time onsite position supporting two hydroelectric powerhouse reconstruction projects in the Sudbury area. The role involves travel between Stinson Generating Station and Coniston Generating Station, which are located approximately 10 km apart. The typical work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with Fridays ending at noon. The environment is highly collaborative, with daily interactions between the Project Manager, owner representatives, engineering consultants, electricians, and construction personnel. A per diem is available for eligible non-local candidates.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $95.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
