Job Title: Engineering Technician
Job Description
You will work in a Mechanical Engineering R&D lab to support the Product Development Life Cycle by executing a variety of laboratory tasks. Your role will involve verifying handheld products, recording results, and conducting verification and design changes. You will collaborate with other engineers and technicians to support the mechanical testing of products.
Responsibilities
- Validate test parameters, equipment calibration, and identify and document failures.
- Adjust and repair equipment as necessary.
- Monitor equipment performance and test progress, troubleshoot and diagnose typical problems with processes and equipment under direction or following documented methods or procedures.
- Perform environmental, mechanical, dynamic, reliability, and functional testing on mobile computing products and systems, both at the entire product level and specific hardware component levels.
- Follow pre-defined test plans, work instructions, test standards, and verbal descriptions/defined test plans.
- Document results for test reports and issue non-compliance reports.
- Interface with internal customers and provide project status updates.
- Assist product development engineers in the diagnosis and replication of product failures.
- Analyze test results and make recommendations.
- Ensure testing is completed for each design revision in a timely fashion.
- Set up, adjust, and develop various types of standard or customer mechanical equipment/fixture to meet test criteria.
- Troubleshoot and set up lab equipment/machines for internal testing, and maintain machinery efficiently and safely.
- Ensure that all projects are accurately documented.
Essential Skills
- Degree or diploma in mechanical engineering or mechanical technologist work experience
- Previous experience running basic mechanical tests on products, including physical, stress, impact, and environmental tests.
- Skill in understanding mechanical engineering technical drawings and basic proficiency in using AutoCAD or 3D design software for mechanical engineering detail drawings.
- Hands-on experience in using a wide range of tools, including common hand and power tools.
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing, calibration, and measurement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience using mechanical tools such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
- Ability to handle multiple work requests and projects simultaneously.
- Quick learner and self-starter.

Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
