Job Title: Product Manager – Consumer Payments and Membership ExperiencesJob Description
This Product Manager role focuses on developing and managing new consumer-facing payment and membership products that drive global member acquisition and engagement. You will own and evolve a multi-year product vision and roadmap, working at the intersection of business, technology, and customer experience. The position requires timely execution of complex projects with high standards for security, performance, availability, and reliability, while serving as a bridge between payment services infrastructure and internal teams that depend on it. You will define requirements, plan delivery, and shape web experiences and features that solve complex problems and create compelling customer journeys across multiple surfaces.
Responsibilities
- Develop and own a three-year product vision and roadmap for consumer-facing payment and membership experiences that drive global member acquisition and engagement.
- Lead end-to-end product lifecycle from concept and business case through design, development, launch, and customer deployment of online services and features.
- Define clear, detailed product requirements and success metrics based on customer needs, business goals, and technical constraints.
- Plan and manage delivery of high-availability, high-performance, and secure payment and membership products, ensuring reliability and scalability.
- Act as a bridge between payment services and internal stakeholders, partnering closely with multiple engineering teams, design, program owners, and page owners.
- Provide escalation management for complex issues, anticipate risks, and make informed tradeoffs between business priorities and technical constraints.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical business owners to drive deployment of new products and features across various customer-facing surfaces.
- Manage and prioritize the product roadmap, balancing short-term execution with long-term strategic goals.
- Contribute to engineering discussions, supporting technology decisions and strategy related to your products and services.
- Understand system design concepts, technical flows, and architecture tradeoffs sufficiently to guide engineers and influence technical decisions, without directly coding.
- Analyze customer behavior, product performance, and business outcomes using SQL, Excel, and other analytical tools to inform decisions and optimizations.
- Represent and advocate for a diverse set of customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning sessions.
- Design and refine web sites, pages, and features that deliver engaging, intuitive customer experiences and drive conversion and membership growth.
- Work backwards from customer needs, dive deep into data and operational details, and earn trust across a highly matrixed, cross-functional organization.
- Drive continuous improvement of products and processes, identifying opportunities to innovate and expand the reach and impact of payment and membership offerings.
- Collaborate with teams across regions and functions to ensure alignment, clear communication, and effective execution of product initiatives.
Essential Skills
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in computer science or a related technical field.
- 3–5 years of industry experience as a software developer or technical lead.
- 5+ years of experience in product management, product marketing, business development, or technology-focused roles.
- 3–5 years of product management experience with a focus on consumer-facing products.
- Proven experience managing technical products or online services, particularly customer-facing experiences.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully delivering software products from conception through business case development and customer deployment.
- Experience owning and driving product roadmap strategy and definition in complex, cross-functional environments.
- Ability to work closely with technical teams, understanding system design, technical flows, and constraints to support informed tradeoffs and decisions.
- Experience contributing meaningfully to engineering discussions around technology decisions and product-related technical strategy.
- Strong capability to work on the business side of projects, driving deployment and adoption of new products and features.
- Experience representing and advocating for diverse customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning.
- Ability to manage roadmaps, collaborate with tech teams, and analyze data to guide product decisions.
- Proficiency performing statistical analysis of data using SQL, Excel, and similar analytical tools.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to work effectively across different groups in an organization and earn trust in a highly matrixed environment.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with strong product and program management skills, comfortable with both technical and business complexity.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of the payments or mobile payments space.
- Experience building customer-facing products and customer experiences, rather than purely internal or B2B tools.
- Preferred experience with e-commerce companies or subscription services, particularly domains similar to large-scale membership programs.
- Familiarity with Linux, Java, and HTML environments and technologies.
- Experience solving complex, high-impact problems for organizations through customer-facing solutions.
- Comfort working in an entrepreneurial, dynamic, and fast-growing business environment.
- Ability to work backwards from customer needs, dive deep into data and details, and earn trust across stakeholders.
- Experience driving member or customer acquisition initiatives across multiple digital surfaces.
Work Environment
You will work in a dynamic, innovative environment within a payments and membership-focused organization that is building and scaling consumer-facing products. The role is inherently cross-functional and highly matrixed, requiring close collaboration with engineering teams, design, program and page owners, and executive stakeholders. You will operate in a technical setting where familiarity with Linux, Java, HTML, and online services is beneficial, and where security, performance, availability, and reliability are critical. The work emphasizes data-driven decision making, frequent engagement in technical and business discussions, and ownership of high-visibility initiatives that impact global member acquisition and customer experience. The environment values diving deep into problems, working backwards from the customer, and earning trust through transparent communication and reliable delivery.
