Job Title: Project Engineer
Overview
The Project Engineer is responsible for developing and supporting technical documentation, ensuring design integrity, and providing engineering support across the full project lifecycle. This role works cross-functionally with design, manufacturing, and project teams to deliver high-quality solutions in regulated environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, including design requirements, FMEAs, design plans, operating manuals, and test plans
- Review designs and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements and applicable standards
- Support the Project Manager in planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout activities related to quality, risk, and technical scope
- Register pressure boundary components and systems in accordance with applicable codes
- Support procurement activities, including purchase requisitions and vendor coordination
- Provide technical input for subcontracted engineering services and external suppliers
- Act as technical lead during customer interface events, as required
- Respond to vendor and supplier technical inquiries
- Present technical information during design reviews and to customers and internal stakeholders
- Provide regular status updates, participate in project meetings, and track progress against milestones
- Plan and execute design verification and development testing in alignment with design inputs and quality standards
- Support manufacturing by troubleshooting and resolving technical challenges
- Assist with assembly, fabrication, installation, and commissioning activities at company and customer sites
- Contribute to project tracking tools such as the Rolling Action Items Log
- Compile and maintain Lessons Learned documentation
- Support Quality Control with issue resolution and required documentation updates
- Assist Health & Safety initiatives related to projects
- Provide input on schedule and budget changes to support project controls
- Support proposal development, including quotes and change orders
- Perform additional duties as required
Required Qualifications
- Experience working with nuclear codes and standards (e.g., CSA N285, ASME)
- Proficiency with SolidWorks and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems
- Experience with automation systems and engineering change management
- Strong understanding of design verification/testing, QA/QC, and project engineering practices
- Experience in nuclear refurbishment and/or reactor tooling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with documentation and configuration management systems
- Understanding of revision control processes
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
Work Environment
This is a hybrid role combining office-based engineering work with hands-on support on the shop floor and at customer sites. You will collaborate across design, manufacturing, and project teams in a fast-paced, project-driven environment. The position offers exposure to complex engineering projects in regulated industries such as nuclear and radiopharma, with opportunities for technical growth and leadership development.

This is a Contract position based out of Oakville, ON.
Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $70.00 - $75.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
