Job Title: QA/QC TechnicianJob Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented QA/QC Technician to support a small, collaborative quality team in a regulated manufacturing environment. In this role, you inspect incoming components and finished products, complete and maintain quality documentation, and support the final release of manufactured products. This is initially a 3month contract to provide coverage for a team member on medical leave, with the possibility of extension depending on workload and operational needs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform dimensional and visual inspection of incoming components, parts, and finished products to ensure they meet established specifications.
  • Support final inspection and release activities for manufactured products in accordance with quality procedures.
  • Use precision measurement equipment, including calipers and micrometers, to verify part dimensions against engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection requirements to guide inspection activities.
  • Apply working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) when inspecting components and assessing compliance.
  • Complete, maintain, and organize detailed inspection records and quality documentation in a documentation-heavy environment.
  • Ensure inspection results are documented accurately, completely, and in a timely manner.
  • Identify and document nonconforming parts or products that do not meet established specifications and quality standards.
  • Collaborate closely with QC Technicians, Quality Engineering, and manufacturing personnel to address quality-related issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in all inspection and documentation tasks.
  • Follow established quality procedures, inspection requirements, and formal quality system processes.
  • Help support existing workload within the QC team and reduce the need for overtime by providing additional inspection capacity.

Essential Skills

  • 12 years of experience performing quality control or dimensional inspection in a manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience using precision measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong documentation skills and the ability to maintain accurate, detailed inspection records.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy in inspection and documentation work.
  • Ability to follow established quality procedures and inspection requirements consistently.
  • Willingness to work an afternoon shift (approximately 12:00 PM8:00 PM) if required by operational needs.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a medical device or other regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience performing both component and part inspection as well as final product release activities.
  • Experience working within formal quality systems and controlled documentation processes.
  • Experience inspecting mechanical or precision-manufactured components.
  • Background or exposure to quality engineering or biomedical manufacturing environments.

Work Environment

You will join a small, collaborative quality team of approximately five people, including four QC Technicians and one Quality Engineer, in a hands-on manufacturing and quality inspection setting. The role involves frequent use of precision measurement equipment and a significant amount of documentation and record keeping, making accuracy and attention to detail especially important.
