Job Title: Test Technologist
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled consultant to assist in replicating several dozen production test systems for a new site. These systems are already in place at Site A and are well documented, and need to be built and verified to ensure their proper functioning. Experienced engineers at Oakville will provide support throughout the process. The test systems are electro systems used to test Class-2 medical devices for release to sale. The consultant will be responsible for building test fixtures, installing software, troubleshooting, and running tests to confirm the success of the systems.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with the technical lead and full-time engineers.
- Review tester schematics, bills-of-materials (BOMs), and work instructions to get supplier quotations for required test system equipment/components/parts and place orders.
- Assemble, wire, solder test cables and PCB assemblies for test jigs/fixtures/racks, per documentation.
- Install and configure tester PCs required for testing, as per documentation.
- Perform test protocols of associated products to confirm the functionality of the completed test systems and troubleshoot or debug defects as required.
- Label, document, and pack newly assembled production test systems to prepare for shipment.
- Create test plans and procedures.
- Document test hardware and software.
- Report defects in the defect tracking system and verify fixes for defects.
- Create verification reports.
- Assemble, integrate, test, and debug test systems.
- Create tester validation plan and protocol and collaborate with the team for process integration.
- Execute tester validation and create validation report for release to production.
Essential Skills
- 3-5 years of experience in equipment testing, test equipment development, and validation protocol.
- Mechanical aptitude, PCB assembly, soldering certified, and troubleshooting.
- Experience in building testers (jigs or systems used to test a product or device).
- Software testing/installation/configuration (PC based).
- Execution of test cases/validation protocol.
- Mechanical/technical aptitude, medical device, and hardware testing.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Test technician certification.
- Knowledge in electronics and PCB.
- Experience with test plans and validation.
- Ability to document test hardware and software.
- Experience in assembling, integrating, testing, and debugging test systems.
Work Environment
This role requires working onsite at the Oakville location for 5 days a week. The project is managed by a U.S.-based manager, while local support and coordination will be provided on-site. The position involves 8-hour workdays, totaling a 40-hour work week. Pay And Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
