We have established a strong presence across Phase I-IV studies and several therapeutic areas including vaccine, neurology, dermatology, psychiatry, and general medicine. Join us as we continue to grow.

The Accounting Manager will oversee key general accounting functions, including month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable operations, financial reporting, and audit support. Reporting to the Controller, this position will manage accounting resources, coordinate with cross-functional stakeholders, and help maintain an audit-compliant system of internal controls and processes that safeguards company assets and supports timely, accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP. A key responsibility will be overseeing and managing offshore accounts payable representatives provided through the Company’s third-party service provider, including workflow coordination, performance oversight, issue resolution, and adherence to established controls and service expectations.

Essential Job Duties: The position will involve exercising discretion and independent judgment on matters of significance, and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead the monthly close process, including review of prepaid expenses, fixed assets, expense accruals, journal entries, and other close activities, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and established timelines.
  • Oversee the preparation and review of monthly balance sheet reconciliations, investigate reconciling items, and ensure timely resolution.
  • Oversee account reconciliations, close tasks, and certifications within FloQast, and support expanded system utilization to improve close efficiency, accountability, and control effectiveness.
  • Oversee and manage offshore accounts payable representatives through the Company’s third-party service provider, including assigning and prioritizing work, monitoring performance and service levels, resolving escalated issues, and ensuring compliance with approval authorities, payment controls, and accounting policies.
  • Maintain effective oversight of the end-to-end accounts payable process, including invoice processing, vendor inquiries, payment execution, account reconciliations, and period-end cut-off.
  • Oversee daily cash tracking and support accurate and timely application of client payments.
  • Prepare and review month-end, bank, and management reporting, including variance analysis and supporting schedules.
  • Coordinate the annual financial audit, manage information requests, and maintain established timelines and supporting documentation.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting activities and provide accounting insights to finance and operational leaders.
  • Support acquisition integrations, including accounting process alignment, opening balance validation, and integration of newly acquired sites into Company systems and controls.
  • Lead or actively participate in special projects, including process standardization, system implementations and migrations, automation initiatives, and accounting policy improvements.
  • Develop, document, and monitor accounting procedures and internal controls; identify opportunities to improve scalability, accuracy, efficiency, and accountability.
  • Coach and develop internal and outsourced accounting resources, set clear expectations, and provide timely feedback and escalation support.
  • Perform all other duties that may be requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is required. 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including experience leading close processes, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations, preparing journal entries, performing variance analysis, and maintaining internal controls, is required. Must have strong knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, accounts payable, internal controls, and financial reporting. Must have experience with ERP and accounts payable workflow systems.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience managing outsourced or offshore accounting resources.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct or similar ERP systems.
  • Experience with FloQast, BlackLine, or other account reconciliation and close management software.
  • Experience supporting mergers and acquisitions, including integration of acquired entities.
  • Experience in a multi-entity, multi-site, or private equity-backed organization.
  • CPA or equivalent professional certification.

Required Skills

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and working proficiency with Microsoft Word, Outlook, and web-based applications. Proficiency with ERP and accounts payable workflow systems is required;
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and hold accountable internal, outsourced, or offshore team members in a service-provider environment.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, prioritization, time-management, and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail.
  • Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain accounting matters to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills, the ability to work effectively with executives, operational leaders, vendors, auditors, colleagues, and third-party service providers, and build trusted relationships with all levels within the organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing workloads in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Professional judgment, integrity, accountability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, identify problems and implement solutions.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential and professional manner, and in compliance with privacy and company guidelines.
  • Full-time employees regularly scheduled to work at least 30 hours per week are benefits-eligible, with coverage starting on the first day of the month following date of hire.
