Job Summary

The Senior Manager, Procurement leads the second pillar of Distech Controls' Procurement organization, covering all commodities (outside Electronics) as well as indirect spend, strategic projects, new product lines, and build-buy-partner decisions.

This role requires a diversified sourcing and supply chain leader who can move effectively across direct and indirect categories, manufacturing and service environments, make-or-buy analysis, supplier development, and enterprise transformation. The leader will build category strategies, strengthen governance, improve processes, and develop the team through clear priorities, common tools, disciplined execution, and measurable outcomes.

A critical part of the mandate is the management of strategic partners whose role extends beyond a conventional supplier-buyer relationship. The successful candidate will understand joint roadmaps, shared investments, intellectual property, capacity commitments, operating interdependencies, risk sharing, governance, and long-term value creation, while building strong partnerships across Distech Controls and other Acuity Group companies.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

Leadership & Sourcing Strategy

  • Team Leadership: Lead, coach, and develop a team responsible for direct commodities, indirect spend, and strategic supply chain initiatives.

  • Category Strategy: Own sourcing strategies for mechanical, plastics, packaging, services, and other indirect categories (excluding electronics).

  • Strategic Analysis: Lead structured make-or-buy analyses and develop scalable supply models for new product lines, from concept through industrialization.

  • Strategic Partnerships: Manage key partners through executive governance, joint business plans, shared roadmaps, risk management, and co-development (with a focus on data center market expansion).

Governance & Business Contribution (Distech & Acuity)

  • Financial Performance: Improve gross margin and Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through competitive sourcing, value analysis, and supplier productivity.

  • Indirect Spend: Establish robust governance for indirect spend, including preferred suppliers, competitive tendering, and compliance tracking.

  • Group Synergies: Collaborate across Acuity Group companies to align strategies, share market intelligence, and increase enterprise purchasing leverage.

  • Supply Resilience: Strengthen the supply chain through risk mapping, alternate strategies, capacity planning, and business continuity.

Process Improvement & Collaboration

  • Transformation: Design, standardize, and continuously improve sourcing and contracting processes to eliminate waste and reduce cycle times (Lean principles).

  • Business Partnering: Act as a trusted strategic partner to Operations, Finance, Engineering, Quality, and IT to improve end-to-end value streams and coordinate trade-offs.
