Job Title: Senior QA Engineer – Backend Automation & Data Testing

Location: Montreal, QC (Remote) / Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior QA Engineer with strong expertise in Python automation, backend testing, SQL, REST APIs, and cloud data pipeline validation. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience testing high-volume transaction processing systems and ensuring data integrity across cloud-based platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop Python automation frameworks using Pytest and Requests.
  • Simulate high-volume trade transactions and validate backend systems.
  • Test AWS ETL/ELT pipelines and identify data-quality issues.
  • Write complex SQL queries to validate data accuracy and consistency.
  • Perform REST API testing and troubleshoot backend failures.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and collaborate with development teams.
  • Support scheduled releases and resolve operational issues.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in software QA, backend automation, and data testing.
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins and window functions.
  • Hands-on experience with API automation and data pipeline testing.
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, EC2, EMR, Lambda, and Athena.
  • Experience with MySQL, Snowflake, or Hive.
  • French language proficiency is mandatory.
