At Adamson's facility in Port Perry, we employ a large staff of Mechanical, Acoustical, Software and Electrical engineers who utilize cutting edge tools and techniques to develop industry leading professional audio products. Our large, vertically integrated manufacturing facility offers our team the benefit of rapid prototyping and the ability to not compromise on design.

The successful Mechanical Design Engineer, will join a team of dedicated engineers with the goal of pushing the edge of what is possible with professional audio products. Success in this role requires a strong interest in product design, acoustics, physics, design for manufacture and the drive to perform in a competitive industry.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Design and prototype mechanical components, enclosures, rigging systems, and integration hardware for new and existing products.
Design of plastic parts and review of their respective molds.
Actively contribute to New Product Introduction (NPI) processes, supporting cross-functional teams through all phases from design validation to production launch.
Support product design and development with emphasis on Design for Manufacturability (DFM) to ensure seamless transition from concept to scalable production.
Participate in design reviews and failure analysis, using tools such as FEA and root cause analysis to ensure structural integrity under rigging, vibration, and environmental stresses.
Maintain organized design documentation, revision control, and contribute to the development of internal best practices for mechanical design and product lifecycle management.
Ensure all designs meet applicable safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards (e.g., CE, RoHS, rigging certifications).

Skills and Qualifications

Completion of a minimum of bachelors degree in Physics or Engineering.
Minimum 3 years of similar work experience design engineering.
Proven experience bringing finished products to market.
Knowledge of molded assembly design
Strong CAD skills.
Experience with FEA / BEM Software (COMSOL, Ansys, etc.).
Familiarity with acoustic principals is an asset (can be learned).
Able to work independently and in a team environment.
Strong analytical, computer and problem-solving skills.
