- Investigate and resolve complex discrepancies related to purchase orders, goods receipts, service entries, GR/IR balances, pricing, quantities, taxes, coding, approvals, supplier records, and workflow processes.
- Troubleshoot transactions that fail automated processing and determine underlying transactional, process, system, data, or control-related causes.
- Review and resolve complex employee expense claims and policy exceptions.
- Investigate duplicate invoices, duplicate payments, payment holds, validation issues, and other payment-related risks.
- Monitor invoice queues, workflow backlogs, aging reports, approval delays, and invoices at risk of late payment.
- Support month-end and year-end close activities, including accruals, reconciliations, variance analysis, reporting, and aged-item resolution.
- Analyze AP performance metrics, dashboards, and KPIs to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
- Identify recurring issues across invoice processing, purchase orders, receiving, master data, workflow, and payment processes, and implement sustainable corrective actions.
- Recommend and support process improvements focused on automation, standardization, efficiency, and stronger financial controls.
- Review current AP processes and workflows and recommend best-practice solutions to improve effectiveness and operational performance.
- Collaborate with Accounts Payable, Supply Chain, Master Data, Tax, Finance, suppliers, and business stakeholders to resolve issues and implement process improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and escalation support to Accounts Payable team members on complex transactions and exception management.
Qualifications
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- Minimum 5 years of full-cycle Accounts Payable, employee expense, accounting, or related financial operations experience.
- Post-secondary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline is considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of purchase order processing, 2-way and 3-way matching, GR/IR management, reconciliations, exception handling, duplicate-payment controls, and financial controls.

- Experience troubleshooting automated invoice workflows and exceptions within high-volume AP environments.
- Strong analytical and root-cause problem-solving skills with the ability to independently resolve complex issues.
- Experience interpreting dashboards, reports, and KPIs to identify trends and drive operational improvements.
- Demonstrated ability to identify process improvement opportunities and support automation, standardization, and workflow optimization initiatives.
- Strong organizational, communication, stakeholder management, and customer service skills.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
