Original job description

Adecco is currently hiring a Senior Credit Analyst for a contract opportunity in Calgary, AB. This role is ideal for experienced professionals with expertise in credit risk management, counterparty analysis, commodity trading, energy markets, portfolio risk, collateral management, and financial analysis.

In this role, you will be responsible for assessing and monitoring counterparty credit risk, supporting commercial decision-making, managing credit exposures, and providing strategic guidance on risk mitigation within a dynamic energy trading environment.

Location: Calgary, AB
Shift: Monday to Friday | 40 hours per week | 8 hours per day
Job type: Contract 12-month | Full-time

Responsibilities:

Credit Risk Management

Monitor daily counterparty credit exposures and ensure compliance with approved limits and policies.
Evaluate counterparty risk and recommend appropriate credit limits, ratings, and terms.
Perform complex credit reviews and provide recommendations for approval.
Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.

Portfolio Monitoring & Reporting

Monitor and report credit exposures across multiple portfolios.
Support daily, monthly, and quarterly credit reporting activities.
Maintain and enhance credit scoring and portfolio benchmarking models.
Analyze market intelligence and financial information to identify emerging risks.

Commercial & Contract Support

Support contract negotiations, collateral agreements, and credit terms discussions.
Provide guidance on deal structures and commercial risk considerations.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external counterparties.
Resolve credit-related issues and support commercial decision-making.

Systems & Process Improvement

Utilize ETRM platforms and credit management tools to monitor exposures.
Leverage Power BI, Power Automate, Databricks, and related technologies to improve reporting and analysis.
Identify opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and operational efficiency.

Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
CFA designation is considered an asset.
Minimum 10 years of credit risk, credit analysis, or counterparty risk experience within the energy industry.
Experience with credit reviews, exposure monitoring, and credit approval processes.
Knowledge of contract structures, collateral management, and risk mitigation techniques.
Advanced analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
Experience with ETRM systems, Power BI, Power Automate, Databricks, or similar reporting tools is an asset.
Must be legally eligible to work, and reside in Calgary, AB.
