Adecco is currently hiring a National Account Manager to join a leading global food company known for bringing high-quality Italian products to consumers in more than 100 countries worldwide. In this role you will be responsible for managing and growing key business accounts, fostering long-term partnerships, driving sustainable business growth, and negotiating pricing agreements and commercial terms with retailers. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to shape the retail strategy, strengthen national customer partnerships, accelerate distribution and sales growth, and build the foundations for the brand’s next stage of expansion.
- Base Salary: $110,000 annually + Bonus+ Car Allowance + expenses reimbursement

Main responsibilities:
- Manage and develop relationships with key national accounts, ensuring sustainable growth, strong customer partnerships, and long-term business development
- Lead the commercial development of the retail channel, with a focus on expanding the brand’s presence, distribution, and market penetration across Canada
- Negotiate pricing agreements, annual customer agreements, trade terms, promotional investments, and other commercial conditions with retailers
- Drive sales performance and support the achievement of ambitious commercial targets across assigned accounts
- Develop and execute account plans and commercial strategies designed to strengthen the brand’s position within the Canadian market
- Collaborate closely with existing distributors, future partners, and internal stakeholders to execute business plans and market strategies
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, customer performance, distribution, and category dynamics to identify opportunities for growth and expansion
- Support and implement trade marketing initiatives, promotional activities, and customer-specific plans that strengthen brand visibility and commercial performance
- Prepare regular sales forecasts, reports, business reviews, and performance analyses, using data and market insights to inform commercial decisions
- Ensure alignment with the brand’s values, positioning, and long-term growth strategy across all customer and commercial activities
- Work closely with the client’s Italy HQ teams, including Back Office, Production Planning, Logistics, and Global Marketing & PR, to ensure effective execution and alignment
• Help build the brand from its current position into a true national Canadian brand, expanding its reach and strengthening its presence across the core retail market
• The initial key focus will be the retail channel, with an opportunity to support the future development and expansion of the Horeca business.

- Build strong, sustainable relationships with major Canadian retail partners
• Establish the brand as a recognized and truly national Canadian brand
• Create a scalable commercial foundation that supports continued growth across both Retail and, over time, Horeca
What we are looking for:
• Previous experience – at least 10 years – in Sales within the Canadian FMCG market (experience gained primarily in other countries would not be sufficient)
• Proven experience managing branded consumer products; experience focused exclusively on private label is not suitable
- Extensive knowledge of the Canadian retail landscape, with established relationships and a strong understanding of major retailers such as Loblaw, Sobeys, Metro, Walmart Canada, Costco, and other national accounts
- Strong knowledge of commercial dynamics and proven ability to identify and capitalize on market growth opportunities
- Strong commercial negotiation skills, particularly in pricing, trade terms, promotional investment, and annual customer agreements
- Solid understanding of both sales and marketing principles, with the ability to translate brand strategy into commercial execution
- Excellent relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to influence customers and internal stakeholders
- Solid knowledge of Business Finance, including Profit & Loss (P&L) management and value chain analysis
• Entrepreneurial and growth-oriented mindset, with the ability to build, transform, and scale a business
- Proactive, autonomous, hands-on, and results-oriented, with the ability to take ownership of the Canadian commercial agenda
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and evolving environment
- Able to develop and maintain strong relationships with key departments at the client’s Italy HQ, including Back Office, Production Planning, Logistics, and Global Marketing & PR
• The candidate must be based in Toronto or the Greater Toronto Area
