SAP Support Technician
Location: Foster Creek, AB (fly-in/fly-out with travel support from Calgary or Edmonton)
Term: 12-Month Contract
Schedule: 7 Days On / 7 Days Off
About the Role
Reporting to the CMMS Lead, Maintenance Work Management & Performance, the Support Technician provides SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) and CMMS support to maintenance and operations teams. This role is responsible for supporting, optimizing, and enhancing work management processes, delivering SAP training, managing reporting requirements, and driving continuous improvement initiatives across the client's operations.
Responsibilities
- Provide end-user support for SAP work management processes, including notifications, work orders, work execution, and closeout activities.
- Identify opportunities to improve work management processes and SAP functionality to increase efficiency and reduce transactional work.
- Deliver SAP training and develop related work instructions and procedures.
- Coach users on SAP work management processes and conduct audits to ensure compliance with standards and procedures.
- Manage SAP reporting requests and support business information needs.
- Assist in developing SAP, Power BI, and KPI reporting to support operational performance.
- Support corporate dashboards and performance management initiatives.
- Work closely with maintenance, operations, and cross-functional teams across multiple locations.
- Provide recommendations and support for technical and system-related issues.
- Prioritize competing system requests and business requirements to meet organizational objectives.
- Support implementation of new technologies, applications, and process improvements.
- Promote alignment and consistency of CMMS procedures and practices across operating sites.
- Provide backup support for other sites and work management teams as required.
Qualifications
- Legally entitled to work in Canada.
- High school diploma required.
- Post-secondary education in a technical discipline, maintenance management, or a related field is preferred.
- Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) certification is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of maintenance and work management experience within the energy industry.
- Strong understanding of maintenance standards, procedures, and best practices.
- Proficiency with SAP Plant Maintenance (PM), Power BI, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience supporting CMMS and maintenance work management systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management abilities.
- Experience with data queries, reporting, and report development.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Experience working with integrated technology solutions and implementing new systems is an asset.
This position is based at a client-operated facility in Foster Creek, Alberta. Transportation to and from site is provided through designated flight hubs and bus transportation from select locations. Candidates must be willing and able to work a rotational schedule and travel between client-operated sites as business needs require.
