Job Function:

Job Subfunction:

Communications

Job Description:

Senior Director, Communications | Omnicom Media Canada

Omnicom Media Canada is looking for a Senior Director, Communications to lead our internal and external communications strategy across our organization and portfolio of agency brands.

This is a senior, highly visible role for a communications leader who knows how to build belief internally and reputation externally.

Working closely with our Canadian executive leadership, agency leaders, People & Culture, Marketing and global communications teams, you’ll help shape how Omnicom Media Canada shows up - with our people, our industry, the media, our clients and the broader business community. You will report into the Senior Vice-President of Growth and Marketing.

What you’ll lead:

• External Communications & Reputation - Strengthen the profile of Omnicom Media Canada, our agencies, leaders and people through proactive media relations, storytelling and reputation management.

• Internal Communications - Build a strong communications cadence that keeps our people informed, connected and engaged with the direction of our business.

• Executive Communications - Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, developing executive messaging, thought leadership, speeches, talking points and media preparation.

• Thought Leadership - Identify the conversations we should be leading and create opportunities to showcase our expertise across media, marketing and Canadian business.

• Issues & Change Communications - Provide strategic counsel and clear, thoughtful communications during periods of organizational change or heightened scrutiny.

• Agency & Global Connectivity - Connect the strength of our global network with the distinct needs, perspectives and opportunities of the Canadian market.

What we’re looking for:

A senior communications leader with 10+ years of experience across corporate communications, PR and/or employee communications, preferably in the Media industry. You’re an exceptional writer and storyteller, comfortable advising C-suite executives, experienced navigating complex organizations and able to move seamlessly between strategy and execution.

Most importantly, you’re proactive. You see the story, opportunity or issue coming - and know how to turn it into action.

If you’re passionate about shaping reputation, strengthening culture and helping some of the industry’s best people and brands tell their stories, we’d love to hear from you.

This is an active vacancy. We are currently hiring for this role and reviewing applications on an ongoing basis.

Expected Salary: $130,000 - $140,000

Omnicom Media is providing the compensation range that the company is willing to pay for this position based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities. In addition, Omnicom Media provides rewarding offerings such as:

Generous paid time off with a minimum of 37 paid days off including vacation and monthly wellness days. We also have four-day long weekends, half-day summer Fridays, and meeting-free Friday afternoons year-round.

A flexible hybrid work model that works for you.

A focus on personal development with formal training opportunities, including mental health training and inclusion education for everyone.

A chance to be part of and grow within a global network of agencies.

The opportunity to contribute to our company culture by joining one of our many community-based employee groups, such as Black Employee Network, Girls on Fire, Hispanic or Latinx Alliance, Neuro Network, Pan-Asian Network, and Rainbow Lounge.

Omnicom is an equal opportunity employer, committed to providing equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, colour, ethnicity, gender, age, religion, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, gender identity, marital status, citizenship, genetic information, disability, or any other basis prohibited by applicable federal, provincial, or municipal law. If you require an accommodation in any aspect of the selection process, please reach out to canadatalent@mbww.com

Salary Range: $130,000 - $140,000

Omnicom’s policy requires employees to work in the office for a minimum of three days a week, unless additional in-office days are directed by their agency or manager. Our objective is to increase this requirement over time, and many of our agencies as well as Omnicom’s corporate group already require five days of in-office attendance.

Omnicom is committed to hiring and developing exceptional talent. We agree that talent is uniquely distributed, and we’re focused on developing inclusive teams that can bring the best solutions to everything we do. We strongly believe that celebrating what makes us different makes us better together. Join us - we look forward to getting to know you.
