Job Description:

As a Strategist at Critical Mass, you’ll be a core contributing member to a strategic, high-growth account, partnering with creative, media, and account teams to help drive innovative, high-impact work. With an understanding of marketing strategy, technology trends and the b2b customer, you'll help the team shape strategic solutions that solve our client’s biggest challenges during a critical period of growth and evolution.

Reporting directly to a senior member of the Strategy team, you’ll play a critical role supporting the strategic direction and ongoing delivery of work across multiple business units and product offerings.

You Will:

  • Support strategic work across multiple workstreams, adding strategic thinking and contributing insights, paired with a bias for action and execution
  • Identify insights based on findings from other disciplines and sources, prioritized for relevance and importance, to help uncover opportunities for the team and client
  • Support and contribute to the development of strategic inputs and assets including messaging direction, audience personas, and ongoing research that helps inform both client strategy and ongoing creative development
  • Dig into category trends, competitor messaging and activities, and evolving market dynamics to inform briefs and keep the broader team engaged and aligned
  • Identify emerging industry trends, particularly in technology and AI, with relevance to the client's brand positioning and customer engagement strategies
  • Contribute to strategic workshops and working sessions with large, cross-functional client teams and internal agency stakeholders to align on strategy and creative direction
  • Enable the success of the strategy and account teams through continuous contribution to deeper understanding of the category landscape and context
  • Collaborate across disciplines (creative, media, marketing science, research, account and project management) to ensure high-quality strategic deliverables
  • Help the team adapt quickly to shifting priorities and emerging opportunities within a fast-moving, highly competitive industry landscape

You Have:

  • A post-secondary degree in Business with a focus on Marketing. Any additional emphasis on social sciences (psychology, sociology or behavioural economics) is considered a strength. As an entry-level opportunity, prior agency or strategy work experience, or experience in B2B marketing, is an asset
  • Understanding of, or experience in, one or more marketing disciplines (brand strategy, digital marketing, web/digital experience, performance marketing or marketing analytics)
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills with a data-driven approach
  • An inherent interest in consumer trends across culture, technology and media and their impact on brands
  • Curiosity about emerging technology, particularly AI, and how it intersects with marketing and brand strategy
  • A genuine commitment to continuous learning and self-development
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with the ability to communicate and work effectively across distinct disciplines and personalities
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with confidence presenting to groups
  • A proactive, self-starting attitude balanced with a willingness to seek direction when needed
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent projects with tight timelines
