Job Description

ADGA is seeking Software Developers to support the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of software applications and systems.

The successful candidates will work as part of multidisciplinary technical teams to analyze requirements, develop software solutions, troubleshoot technical issues, conduct testing, and support the deployment and maintenance of software applications. This role is ideal for early-career software professionals who have gained practical development experience and are looking to build their expertise within a collaborative and technically complex environment.

The Software Developer will contribute throughout the software development lifecycle, working closely with system architects, quality assurance specialists, project managers, and other technical stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, maintainable, and high-quality software solutions.

This is a proactive recruitment initiative, with potential start dates in the coming weeks or months, contingent on contract award.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze software system and subsystem requirements, architecture, and interface documentation.
Provide recommendations related to software requirements, design, architecture, and technical solutions.
Design, develop, and implement software applications, modules, and services in accordance with approved specifications and development standards.
Analyze user and business requirements and translate them into functional and technical design solutions.
Develop and maintain code using appropriate programming languages, frameworks, development tools, and methodologies.
Participate in code reviews to ensure adherence to coding standards, quality, security, maintainability, and performance requirements.
Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve software defects and technical issues across development, testing, and production environments.
Design and execute unit, integration, and system testing to validate software functionality and performance.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including system architects, QA analysts, developers, and project managers.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design documentation, test plans, user guides, administrator guides, and release notes.
Participate in technical, design, and management reviews to monitor progress, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
Analyze software deficiencies and recommend scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions.
Support the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of software systems.
Work with version control systems and CI/CD processes to support efficient software development and deployment.
Ensure software development activities comply with applicable security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Research and evaluate emerging technologies, development tools, and industry best practices.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of software development processes and system capabilities.

Qualifications

Completed education and/or training in software development, computer science, computer engineering, information technology, or a related technical discipline.
A minimum of 2 years of demonstrated experience in software development or programming.
Demonstrated experience performing a minimum of six of the core software development responsibilities outlined in this role.
Experience designing, developing, testing, and maintaining software applications or components.
Experience analyzing technical and user requirements and translating them into functional software solutions.
Experience using one or more modern programming languages, frameworks, or software development tools.
Experience troubleshooting and resolving software defects and technical issues.
Experience conducting unit, integration, and/or system testing.
Familiarity with software development lifecycle methodologies and best practices.
Experience working with version control systems.
Familiarity with CI/CD concepts and software deployment processes.
Ability to prepare and maintain technical documentation.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary technical team.
Strong communication skills and the ability to participate effectively in technical discussions and reviews.

Additional Information

Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance, VCR’s and Controlled Goods clearances.
- If you do not currently hold the required security clearance ADGA can initiate the clearance process on your behalf; however, you will not be eligible for hire until the clearance has been successfully obtained.
The posted salary reflects an employee compensation model; consultant rates will be adjusted accordingly. We will consider candidates for either employment or consultant arrangements. Consultants will be required to hold a Controlled Goods clearance and Insurance.
