Our client is a software company that develops AI and computer vision-based solutions to make surgery minimally invasive, smarter and safer. They are revolutionizing the operating room with their real-time image processing technology. It's a co-pilot of the human body, guiding surgeons with unprecedented precision and confidence.

To accelerate the growth of their company, they are looking for an AI Scientist/Engineer who will play a key role in developing, training, and deploying deep learning models that operate directly on live video streams as well as on preoperative medical images.

You will work closely with algorithm experts, software engineers, and clinical advisors to transform intraoperative surgical videos and preoperative medical images into real-time perceptual intelligence.

Hybrid mode :3 days in the office
REQUIRED: The candidate must be authorized to work in Canada

Missions:

Development and refinement of deep learning models for video streams and medical images
Use of self-supervised learning, domain adaptation, and synthetic data augmentation for sparse medical datasets
Conversion of Python prototypes into low-latency inference pipelines
Applying MLOps practices for experiment tracking and dataset version management
Defining reference protocols with clinical specialists
Organizing and anonymizing clinical datasets in accordance with HIPAA/GDPR standards
Writing modular code and documentation that complies with IEC 62304 / ISO 13485 standards.

Profile:

Ph.D in computer science, biomedical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related technical field.
Or a master’s degree combined with 2–5 years of practical industry experience in the development and maintenance of computer vision or deep learning systems in production.
Deep learning frameworks: Advanced proficiency in Python and PyTorch
Fundamentals of computer vision: Solid foundation in geometric vision, multi-view geometry, optical flow, and image processing libraries (OpenCV)
Engineering standards: Proven experience writing clean, maintainable code under version control (Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, unit tests)
Problem-solving: Proven ability to tackle ambiguous visual challenges, whether demonstrated through peer-reviewed publications as first author or through the successful delivery of commercial software.
Proficiency in French and English

Assets:

Knowledge of the challenges associated with surgical AI and the state of the art in this field
Practical proficiency in modern C++ for algorithm acceleration and edge integration

Développement et affinage des modèles d’apprentissage profond pour les flux vidéo et les images médicales

Profil :

Doctorat en informatique, génie médical ou électrice ou dans une discipline technique connexe.
Ou Maitrise combiné à 2-5 ans d’expérience pratique en entreprise dans le développement et la maintenance de systèmes de vision par ordinateur ou d’apprentissage profond en production
Frameworks d’apprentissage profond : Maîtrise avancée de Python et de PyTorch
Principes fondamentaux de la vision par ordinateur : Solides bases en vision géométrique, géométrie multi-vues, flux optique et bibliothèques de traitement d’images (OpenCV)
Normes d’ingénierie : Expérience avérée dans l’écriture de code propre, maintenable et soumis à un contrôle de version (Git, Docker, pipelines CI/CD, tests unitaires)
Résolution de problèmes : Capacité avérée à relever des défis visuels ambigus, qu’elle soit démontrée par des publications évaluées par des pairs en tant que premier auteur ou par la livraison réussie de logiciels commerciaux.
