Perform HVAC calculations and analysis using industry tools (e.g., Carrier HAP).
Complete engineering calculations, conduct design drawing reviews, and support field investigations.
Ensure designs comply with applicable codes, regulations, and client standards.
Write and edit mechanical specifications.
Conduct site visits for mechanical inspections and prepare clear, concise reports (some out-of-town travel expected).
Support business development, including proposal writing.
Prepare written reports and communicate results clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
Apply working knowledge of LEED or other sustainability/green rating systems.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering plus 6+ years of experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial, institutional, and light industrial facilities (or equivalent combination of education and experience).

Preferred Requirements:

P.Eng. registration in Alberta (or ability to obtain).
20+ years of relevant experience.
Strong consulting engineering background.
Strong experience preparing project-specific technical specifications.
In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems (including hydronic systems) and BMS controls.
