What Is the Opportunity
The Specialist, Total Rewards will be responsible for supporting the execution and development of compensation strategies and programs. The role provides an opportunity to gain experience and work on other aspects within the Total Rewards domain. Reporting to Manager, Total Rewards, the incumbent will also assist in developing, implementing, improving and supporting programs, processes and tools to help achieve department’s strategic objectives.

What You'll Do Here

Support Manager, Total Rewards in designing, building and communicating enterprise-wide compensation policies, programs and processes
Support and manage broad-based pay analysis, job framework, incentive plan design, compensation surveys, market pricing, job documentation, job evaluation and pay equity analysis
Support annual compensation processes programs including the Annual Salary Review, Short-Term Incentive plan (STIP), and others as required
Assist in administration of Executive Long-term incentive plan (LTIP) and broad-based equity programs
Plan and manage delivery of Total compensation summary project annually
Responsible for administration of Total Rewards documentation (guides, FAQs, forms, etc.) ensuring it is relevant, current and easily accessible
Identify opportunities to streamline and modernize existing compensation practices to ensure external competitiveness and comply with regulations or legislation
Supports organizational compliance with all relevant compensation legislations in Canada and US
Develops, monitors, updates and communicates project schedules of track tasks, deadlines and milestones
Support and maintain a thorough understanding of Total Rewards policies and practices and support internal and external pension and benefits design, practices and policies
Support in implementing and ongoing maintenance of HRIS system for compensation programs and processes
Preparation of presentations and special reports as required
Special project assistance as required

What You Bring to The Team

5+ years of progressive compensation experience with good understanding of compensation principles and legislation and a college or university degree
Prior experience in labor market surveys, HR practices and compensation cycle management
Working knowledge of job evaluation and job analysis systems
Adequate knowledge of current labor regulations and legislation such as Pay Equity, Pay Transparency etc.
Familiarity with various types of incentives and benefits
Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) Designation or working towards completion
Strong technical skills including advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products; SharePoint, Excel, etc.
Experience working with SAP, SAP Business Objects and Success Factors compensation management is an asset
Strong understanding of benefits and pension legislation and compliance/filing requirements is an asset
Ability to successfully navigate a fast-paced, complex and changing work environment, while managing multiple and shifting priorities.
Strong problem-solving ability and critical thinking skills.
Strong ability to collaborate with internal clients and external vendors to achieve the best results and deliver the most value
Act with discretion and confidentiality
Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills

The expected salary range for this opportunity is $85,000 - $100,000 per year

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
