What is the Opportunity?

Aecon is seeking a collaborative and highly motivated Senior Treasury Analyst to join its Corporate Treasury team. Reporting to the Treasury Manager, this role offers broad exposure to debt and equipment financing, liquidity, Treasury systems, financial analysis and banking relationships across a complex and growing organization.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Director, Treasury on equipment-financing activities, including evaluating financing proposals, coordinating execution and building effective relationships with lenders. The role will also own critical debt administration and reconciliation activities, deliver meaningful cash flow analysis, and help implement and continuously improve Aecon’s Treasury Management System and related processes.

This is an opportunity for a CPA with strong analytical judgment, a control mindset and demonstrated teamwork to make a visible contribution. The role is designed for someone who can collaborate across Aecon and with external lenders, support the Treasury Manager as a trusted operational partner, and progressively build leadership capability within the team.

What You'll Do Here:

Debt and Equipment Financing

Own debt administration and the monthly and quarterly reconciliation of Treasury debt and lease records to lender statements, subledgers and the general ledger; investigate variances and coordinate timely resolution.
Maintain accurate records of borrowings, repayments, interest, fees, maturities, and loan and lease additions, modifications, disposals and buyouts.
Prepare monthly and quarterly debt reporting, supporting schedules, journal entries, accruals and management information, and support drawdowns and repayments under corporate credit facilities.
Work closely with the Director, Treasury on equipment financing, including the review and comparison of lender proposals, financial analysis, execution planning and presentation of recommendations.
Coordinate documentation, approvals, funding and closing requirements with internal stakeholders and lenders, and maintain complete post-closing records.
Help build and maintain constructive lender relationships through responsive communication, reliable execution and professional follow-through.
Support IFRS 16 schedules and reporting where required, while partnering with the appropriate accounting stakeholders on technical conclusions.

Cash Flow Analysis and Treasury Insight

Perform forecast-to-actual cash flow variance analysis, identify key drivers and prepare concise management commentary.
Review automated cash-position and forecasting outputs, investigate exceptions and validate data quality and completeness.
Develop analysis that improves visibility into liquidity, debt activity, forecast performance and payment exceptions.
Turn complex financial information into clear, practical insights that support Treasury decisions.

Treasury Systems, Controls and Process Improvement

Play a key business role in the implementation and ongoing enhancement of the Treasury Management System, including requirements, data preparation, testing, reconciliation, documentation, training and user adoption.
Support automation of the cash board, cash forecasting and payment processes while maintaining effective review, exception management and control evidence.
Identify and implement opportunities to strengthen controls, standardize processes, improve reporting and reduce manual effort.
Document clear procedures, accountabilities and backup arrangements for critical Treasury activities.

Teamwork, Operational Partnership and Leadership Development

Serve as the primary operational backup to the Treasury Manager, supporting prioritization, issue resolution, escalation management and continuity of critical activities.
Collaborate effectively with Accounting Ops Finance, Tax, Shared Services, Information Services, Legal, Procurement, business units and project teams across Aecon.
Build trusted, professional relationships with banks, equipment lenders and other external partners.
Contribute actively to team problem-solving, knowledge sharing, cross-training and the development of a strong control culture.
Progressively build leadership skills by coordinating work, supporting colleagues, sharing expertise and taking ownership of increasingly complex initiatives.
Provide backup support for selected cash-management, banking, payment, KYC, online banking and month-end activities as priorities require.

What You Bring to the Team:

CPA designation is required.
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics or a related field.
Approximately three to five years of relevant experience in corporate treasury, banking, cash management, financial analysis, accounting, debt or lease administration.
Strong reconciliation and analytical capability, including demonstrated success investigating variances, identifying root causes and communicating conclusions.
Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial models, large data sets, pivot tables and complex formulas.
Experience with SAP or another ERP; exposure to a Treasury Management System, Power BI, Power Automate or finance automation is an asset.
Working knowledge of debt instruments, payment processes, cash forecasting, financial controls and month-end reporting.
Equipment-financing, leasing or IFRS 16 exposure is an asset.
Demonstrated teamwork and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and with lenders and banks.
Clear written and verbal communication and the confidence to engage with stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
High attention to detail, sound judgment and a consistent commitment to accuracy, controls and documentation.
Initiative, curiosity and a genuine interest in improving how work is performed.
Ability to manage competing priorities, work independently and follow through reliably under tight deadlines.
Interest in developing broader Treasury expertise and growing into future leadership responsibilities.

The expected salary range for this role is $80,000-$95,000 per year
