Electromechanical Maintenance Technician – Production & Packaging
Employment: Full-time, permanent | On-site
Salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually, depending on experience
Aeolus Staffing Solutions is recruiting an experienced Electromechanical Maintenance Technician / Industrial Millwright on behalf of a manufacturing client in the Cornwall area.
This long-term opportunity involves maintaining and troubleshooting cigarette-making and Hinge Lid Packer (HLP) packaging machinery, supporting reliable production and minimizing equipment downtime.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electromechanical faults on production and packaging equipment.
- Maintain power transmission, vacuum, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Troubleshoot equipment controls, sensors and PLC-related faults.
- Perform preventive maintenance, lubrication, inspections and machine adjustments.
- Repair or replace defective components and support machinery overhauls.
- Read blueprints, equipment manuals, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Install, align, assemble and dismantle industrial machinery using appropriate tools and lifting equipment.
- Fabricate parts using machine tools and welding equipment where required.
- Work independently and alongside the production team to resolve equipment issues safely.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of hands-on maintenance experience with cigarette-making and Hinge Lid Packer (HLP) machinery.
- Background in electromechanical maintenance, industrial mechanics or millwright work.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills and knowledge of automated production equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and equipment schematics.
- Good verbal and written English communication skills.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Detail-oriented, dependable and able to work independently or within a team.
- Currently based in Canada and legally authorized to work in Canada.
- Able to work on-site in Summerstown, Ontario.

Responsibilities

Requirements

Candidates must be able to interpret technical drawings and schematics, communicate in English, use Microsoft Office, work independently or with a team, and be legally authorized to work in Canada.
