Senior Controls / Automation Engineer

We’re hiring a Senior Controls / Automation Engineer for a long-term industrial client in Hamilton, Ontario.

This is a senior-level contract opportunity for an experienced engineer with a strong background in industrial automation, controls engineering, PLC/SCADA systems and automated equipment.

What we’re looking for:

• 10+ years of relevant industrial engineering experience

• Strong PLC programming and SCADA experience

• Experience designing and supporting automated industrial equipment and control systems

• Strong knowledge of electrical controls, schematics, BOMs and control hardware

• Experience with equipment software development, testing and documentation

• Ability to manage complex engineering projects from design through implementation

• Previous experience leading or mentoring engineers or technical teams

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls/Automation Engineering or a related discipline

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience within industrial automation, process equipment, industrial gases, chemical/process systems, advanced manufacturing or similar environments would be particularly relevant.

Location: Hamilton, ON

Engagement: Independent Contractor / T4A

Rate: 65-78ph

Schedule: Full-time, primarily site/office based with field requirements as needed
