Executive Trainer – Advanced Pension Funds Governance & Strategic Leadership
Aethera Training Consultancy is seeking an experienced Pension Funds, Institutional Investment, Governance, Finance, or Retirement Systems Specialist to design and deliver a bespoke three-day, one-to-one executive training programme for a highly experienced, doctoral-qualified participant.
The participant has already completed a foundation-level programme and is now seeking advanced, practical exposure to pension finance, institutional investment, pension reform, emerging technology, AI governance, and strategic leadership.
This is a high-level executive development engagement requiring substantial professional and analytical expertise. The successful trainer will be expected to challenge the participant through complex cases, strategic discussions, quantitative analysis, opposing viewpoints, and senior board-level decision-making scenarios.

Training Approach
This is not an introductory pension course or a conventional classroom training programme.
The programme will be built around a demanding fictional pension institution and will require the participant to:

- Work through quantitative financial and investment cases
- Respond to opposing institutional perspectives

The trainer should be comfortable acting as both subject-matter expert and executive-level challenger, rather than simply presenting prepared slides.
Key Responsibilities
The selected trainer will be responsible for:
- Designing a bespoke three-day advanced training programme
- Preparing high-quality training materials, case studies, exercises and supporting resources
- Developing realistic pension fund and institutional investment scenarios
- Facilitating interactive one-to-one executive sessions
- Leading quantitative and analytical exercises where appropriate
- Challenging the participant through questioning, debate and opposing viewpoints
- Facilitating board-level decision-making simulations
- Connecting theoretical concepts with real-world institutional practice
- Supporting the participant in translating analysis into practical recommendations
- Providing practical input and on-ground support during the programme, where required
- Working with Aethera Training Consultancy to refine the programme based on the participant's professional background and learning objectives
The lead trainer may also collaborate with specialist contributors in areas such as pension actuarial analysis, pension reform economics, institutional investment and financial AI where additional specialist expertise would strengthen the programme.

- Strong knowledge of pension investment and governance frameworks
- Ability to analyse quantitative financial and investment cases
- Experience with strategic decision-making and institutional risk
- Experience teaching, coaching, mentoring or developing senior professionals or executives
- Strong facilitation and communication skills
- Ability to engage in high-level discussion and challenge experienced professionals constructively
- Understanding of international pension systems or comparative pension policy
- Experience working with boards, senior executives, investment committees or institutional decision-makers would be highly valuable
