Overtime and weekend work are common.

Check all load-related documentation to ensure it is complete and accurate.
Plan or adjust routes based on changing road, weather and traffic conditions using GPS or other navigation tools.
Use mobile communication devices and company-approved technology to communicate with Dispatch and operational personnel.
Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service and repair status, following applicable provincial regulations.
Record and maintain required documentation, including the driver logbook, bills of lading, and cargo, distance and fuel consumption records.
Communicate effectively with the public, government officials, customers and co-workers.

Deliver product and proper paperwork to customers in a courteous and timely manner.
Plan rest periods and resets on the road in compliance with hours-of-service regulations.
