We’re looking for a collaborative and forward-thinking Director, Credit Risk to provide leadership and accountability for the second line credit risk adjudication. This role is designed for someone who understands the balance between growth and risk, can navigate complex lending environments and translate risk insights into sound business decisions, this role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact across the organization.
What you’ll do
- Collaborates across the organization in supporting the decisioning for and implementation of credit strategies, policies, and guidelines that enable innovative and functional credit risk services.
- Enables the quality and integrity of credit analysis through providing coaching, direction and expertise to the Credit Risk team by ensuring loans follow Standards of Sound Business Practice, legislation, regulations, policies, procedures and guidelines
- Assesses the effectiveness of the first line credit processes related to origination and management of loans.
- Supports the assessment and reporting on portfolio health to management, the board and other stakeholders, including identifying and assessing internal and external credit trends, and providing advice to inform credit strategy.
- Actively participates in national peer groups and maintains professional contacts to support development of best practices.

What you’ve got
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field, plus 10 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Advanced knowledge in a broad range of credit analysis and adjudication practices, including for highly complex business and agricultural lending as well as for Consumer Lending
- Advanced knowledge in the development, implementation, and execution of divisional strategy which incorporates leading practices and innovative developments
- Ability to lead, engage, and coach employees, set clear expectations, review progress, provide feedback and guidance, and hold people accountable
