On behalf of our public sector client, Affinity is seeking an IT Program/Project Manager – Cybersecurity Program to lead the planning, execution, coordination, and delivery of a high-profile Cybersecurity Program consisting of three parallel projects while ensuring alignment with UCIT standards, governance processes, timelines, and budgets. They will drive successful cybersecurity program outcomes in support of the University’s IT and security objectives. They will work closely with Supply Chain, FOIP, Legal, Strategic Communications, technical teams, vendors, business stakeholders, and IT leadership to ensure successful delivery, stakeholder alignment, and organizational readiness.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, coordination, and delivery of the Cybersecurity Program and its three parallel projects within approved scope, timelines, and budgets.
- Coordinate activities, dependencies, risks, resources, and priorities across the projects within the program.
- Ensure compliance with IT PMO methodology, University policies, governance requirements, and solution delivery standards.
- Develop and maintain required project documentation, including project charters, project management plans, change management plans, schedules, and project closeout documentation.
- Coordinate solution delivery artifacts, including Privacy Impact Assessments (PIAs), Security Assessments, business requirements, design documentation, and release documentation.
- Prepare and maintain monthly project status reports, budget trackers, forecasts, and financial reconciliation documentation.
- Proactively identify, manage, and escalate project risks, issues, dependencies, and decisions.
- Lead or support organizational change management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communications, readiness, and training.
- Collaborate with internal and external teams, including Supply Chain, FOIP, Legal, Strategic Communications, technical teams, vendors, and business stakeholders.
- Provide project management expertise, recommendations, and strategic input to IT leadership and key stakeholders.
- Facilitate effective communication and decision-making across all stakeholder levels, from executive sponsors to project team members.
- Ensure project documentation is complete, current, and maintained in the official project repository.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or a related field.
- PMP certification required.
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of project management experience, preferably within complex IT environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects concurrently.
- Program management experience is preferred.
- Experience managing projects through the full project lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, implementation, and closure.
- Cybersecurity project or program experience is considered an asset.
- Experience in post-secondary education, public sector, or similarly complex organizational environments is considered an asset.
- Strong delivery focus with demonstrated organizational change management experience.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, tracking, and reconciliation.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Strong risk, issue, dependency, and change management capabilities.
- Strategic thinker with sound problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Collaborative, service-oriented, and able to build effective working relationships across technical and business teams.
