Job Description
Affinity is seeking a Microsoft Fabric Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise analytics and reporting solutions within Microsoft Fabric. The successful candidate will act as the technical leader for complex data enablement initiatives, partnering with business stakeholders, data teams, analytics engineers, and BI developers to deliver scalable, governed, and analytics-ready data solutions.
This individual will be responsible for defining architecture standards, data modeling approaches, governance frameworks, and delivery best practices across financial and operational reporting initiatives. The role requires deep expertise in Microsoft Fabric, modern data platforms, dbt, Power BI, and enterprise data architecture.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical leadership with business acumen and can translate complex reporting and analytical requirements into scalable enterprise solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Data Architecture
- Define and own the end-to-end architecture for Microsoft Fabric solutions.
- Design scalable data pipelines, medallion architectures, semantic models, and reporting layers.
- Establish enterprise data patterns, standards, and best practices.
- Ensure alignment with governance, security, lineage, and compliance requirements.
- Design reusable architectural frameworks that accelerate future delivery streams.
Data Modeling & Engineering Leadership
- Lead dimensional modeling and business data model design.
- Review and guide dbt implementation standards and modeling approaches.
- Establish testing, observability, and quality frameworks.
- Ensure consistent source-to-certified lineage across all data domains.
- Optimize data platforms for performance, scalability, maintainability, and cost efficiency.
Analytics & Reporting Enablement
- Work closely with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements.
- Guide the design of semantic models and Power BI reporting solutions.
- Ensure reporting assets support self-service analytics while maintaining governance controls.
- Define KPI and metric standards across business domains.
Technical Leadership
- Provide technical oversight to Analytics Engineers, Data Leads, and BI Developers.
- Conduct architecture and code reviews.
- Mentor development teams on Fabric, dbt, SQL, and Power BI best practices.
- Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to the analytics platform.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Partner with business leaders, finance teams, operations teams, and technology stakeholders.
- Present architecture decisions and recommendations to executive audiences.
- Facilitate workshops, requirements sessions, and solution design reviews.
- Support project planning, estimation, risk management, and delivery governance.

- 8+ years of experience in data architecture, analytics engineering, or enterprise data platforms including Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold), developing certified semantic models and governed reporting solutions.
- 3+ years of hands-on Microsoft Fabric architecture experience, including data governance, metadata management, lineage, and security.
- Proven technical expertise utilizing:
- Microsoft Fabric
- Power BI
- SQL
- dbt
- Data Warehousing
- Dimensional Modeling
- At least 1 project that involved enterprise Yardi integration or similar property management platform, within the commercial real estate, property management, asset management industry

- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for analytics solutions.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical delivery teams.

- Portfolio Analytics
- Operational Reporting
- Executive Dashboards
- Microsoft Fabric or Azure certifications.
