Job Description
We are seeking a Senior Software Developer for a short-term contract engagement to support the development of a new greenfield platform initiative. This role is ideal for a senior-level engineer who enjoys working across architecture, system design, frontend and backend development, and AI-assisted software engineering.
You will play a key role in building scalable, high-quality software while collaborating with Product, Engineering, and QA teams. This opportunity offers the chance to contribute to a modern platform build from the ground up and help shape technical decisions that influence future product development.
Contract Details
- Contract Length: Approximately 2 months
- Location: Hybrid preferred (1 day/week onsite); remote candidates located in BC or Alberta will also be considered
- Time Zone: Must be able to work PST business hours
- Engagement Type: Contract
What You'll Be Doing
- Design and develop scalable software solutions for a greenfield platform
- Participate in system architecture and technical design discussions
- Build and maintain frontend applications using React and TypeScript
- Contribute to backend service design and implementation
- Develop and execute automated testing strategies
- Conduct code reviews and promote engineering best practices
- Collaborate closely with Product Managers, Designers, QA, and other developers
- Mentor team members and provide technical leadership
- Leverage AI-assisted development tools to improve productivity and software quality
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across engineering practices
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional software development experience
- Strong expertise with React
- Strong proficiency with TypeScript
- Experience building scalable web applications in production environments
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted software development tools, including Claude Code
- Experience with software architecture and system design
- Strong understanding of software testing and quality assurance practices
- Experience working within Agile development environments
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead technical initiatives and mentor developers
Nice-to-Have Experience
- Kubernetes and containerization technologies
- AWS cloud services
- PostgreSQL
- Docker, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
- Experience working on greenfield products or platforms
