Reporting to the Controller, the Accounting Technician will be primarily responsible for performing a variety of accounting-related tasks.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things:
- Entering data into the Acomba accounting system;
- Performing bank reconciliations for various bank accounts;
- Processing payroll using the ADP system;
- Entering supplier invoices and processing payments to various vendors (accounts payable);
- Performing administrative tasks related to the collection and distribution of insurance premiums to insurers;
- Maintaining records of fixed assets;
- Analyzing general ledger accounts;
- Preparing monthly tax reports;
- Making bank deposits;
- Following up on accounts receivable;
- Entering daily data into the cash flow spreadsheet;
- Performing administrative tasks related to claims payments;
- Participating in the budgeting process;
- Performing any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have the Following Qualifications and Skills:
- A college diploma in Administrative Techniques, specializing in Finance or Accounting, or a bachelor’s degree in Accounting;
- At least three years of relevant experience;
- At least three years of experience using accounting software (experience with Acomba is a significant asset);
- Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office;
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, accuracy, and rigor;
- The ability to identify opportunities for improvement and implement solutions;
- Fluency in both French and English, spoken and written;
- Experience in group insurance is an asset.
