About The Role

The position of Senior Account Manager, Commercial Banking at National Bank of Canada offers an exciting opportunity to lead and expand a portfolio of business clients within the Tri-Cities region. As a key member of the Commercial Banking team, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing tailored financial strategies, and nurturing long-term client relationships. Your role involves working closely with clients to understand their unique needs, providing expert advice on banking solutions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality service. You will collaborate with various internal departments and specialists to offer comprehensive financial solutions that support clients’ growth and success. This is a full-time, permanent position that requires a proactive approach, strategic thinking, and a commitment to excellence in client service.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales and business development within the financial industry, with a minimum of 5 to 9 years of relevant experience. A university degree, such as a bachelor’s or master’s, is required, with at least 5 years of experience in financial analysis, commercial credit, and client relationship management. Candidates should have an extensive network of professional contacts among medium-sized and large enterprises in the local market. Proven expertise in analyzing financial statements, negotiating credit terms, and developing business strategies is essential. Strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and a client-focused mindset are critical to success. Fluency in English is mandatory, and additional language skills are considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Identify and develop new business opportunities within the local market, expanding the commercial client base through targeted outreach and strategic initiatives.
Assist clients in achieving their business objectives by proposing customized financial strategies that leverage the bank’s products and services.
Adapt and optimize financial solutions to meet clients’ evolving needs, ensuring maximum value and satisfaction.
Negotiate terms and conditions of agreements, maintaining compliance with risk management standards and profitability metrics.
Develop and implement comprehensive business development plans aligned with regional goals.
Support the Regional Vice-President in achieving regional and organizational objectives through strategic planning and execution.
Collaborate with the Manager – Financing Solutions to deliver tailored financing options to clients.
Participate actively in networking events, conferences, and community initiatives to enhance the bank’s presence and build valuable relationships.
Work synergistically with various internal departments, including Private Banking and Advisory Services, to provide holistic solutions to clients.
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, banking regulations, and competitive landscape to inform strategic decisions.
