About The Company

OMAC Martial Arts operates in the martial arts industry and supports a network of franchise locations. The company’s franchise model depends on strong, consistent people practices that help each location recruit, develop, and support its employees. OMAC Martial Arts is seeking an experienced human resources leader to strengthen corporate HR services, guide franchise owners, and promote consistent employment and workplace safety standards across its locations.

About The Role

The Human Resources leader will plan, organize, direct, and evaluate HR strategies, policies, and operations across OMAC Martial Arts’ multi-location franchise network. This role provides strategic direction while ensuring franchise teams receive practical, responsive support. You will lead the corporate HR team, oversee nationwide talent acquisition frameworks, and help franchise owners build effective teams and positive employee experiences.

The successful candidate will balance long-term planning with hands-on oversight of compliance, recruitment, onboarding, training, benefits, performance management, employee relations, and health and safety. Working closely with franchise owners and corporate colleagues, you will use consistent processes, reliable workforce information, and clear communication to support current operations and future franchise expansion.

Qualifications

Applicants should bring substantial human resources leadership experience, preferably supporting a multi-site, franchise, or distributed workforce. A degree or diploma in human resources, business administration, or a related discipline is an asset. A recognized HR designation, where applicable, is also desirable.

Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of employment standards, human rights requirements, and occupational health and safety obligations, including relevant provincial and federal requirements. The role calls for experience leading HR professionals, overseeing compliance programs and audits, and developing practical policies and systems. Strong communication, relationship-building, problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills are essential. The ability to manage sensitive employee matters with professionalism and discretion is important, as is the ability to advise owners and teams across multiple locations.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, supervise, mentor, and evaluate corporate HR specialists and administrative staff who provide services to franchise units. Establish priorities, promote service quality, and support the professional development of the HR team.

Direct recruitment frameworks and nationwide talent acquisition strategies. Establish standardized onboarding procedures and coordinate training initiatives that support consistent employee integration, skill development, and service standards across franchise locations.

Develop and implement performance appraisal systems suited to franchise employees. Provide strategic guidance to owners on individual and team development, employee relations, and the creation of constructive workplace environments. Build positive relationships between corporate and franchise staff, and improve communication channels so employee concerns are addressed promptly and appropriately.

Oversee employment compliance programs and conduct routine audits to assess alignment with applicable labor standards, human rights codes, occupational health and safety regulations, and corporate requirements. Identify gaps, recommend corrective actions, and monitor follow-through. Oversee health and safety compliance and conduct workplace reviews to identify opportunities for prevention and improvement.

Administer and communicate employee benefit programs, collaborating with franchise owners to answer questions and maintain alignment with corporate guidelines. Oversee the centralized HR database and promote accurate, secure, and consistent recordkeeping. Prepare reports on workforce metrics and trends to support informed strategic decisions.

Provide dedicated HR guidance for franchise expansion and ongoing development. Represent OMAC Martial Arts at franchise community events and cultivate productive relationships with key contacts in franchise associations.

Benefits

OMAC Martial Arts offers the opportunity to shape HR practices across a growing franchise network and contribute to the development of employees and franchise locations. The role provides meaningful collaboration with corporate leaders and franchise owners, along with the chance to build consistent systems, support expansion, and influence organizational effectiveness. Compensation, benefits, and other employment details will be discussed during the hiring process.

Equal Opportunity

OMAC Martial Arts is committed to fair and inclusive employment practices. Employment decisions are made without discrimination and in accordance with applicable laws. Candidates are considered based on their qualifications, experience, and ability to perform the role’s responsibilities. Reasonable accommodations are available during the recruitment process upon request.
