About The Company

OMAC Martial Arts is a franchise-based organization focused on delivering martial arts programs and services through locations across its network. The company supports franchise owners and employees with centralized guidance, resources, and operational standards. OMAC Martial Arts is seeking an experienced human resources leader to strengthen its people practices, support franchise growth, and promote consistent, compliant, and positive workplace experiences across locations.

About The Role

The Human Resources Director will lead the development and execution of organization-wide HR strategies, policies, and services for OMAC Martial Arts’ multi-franchise network. This role partners closely with franchise owners and corporate leadership to address workforce needs, promote consistent employment practices, and support the company’s ongoing expansion. The successful candidate will oversee a corporate HR team, establish scalable programs, and provide practical guidance across recruitment, onboarding, training, employee relations, performance management, benefits, and workplace health and safety. The role requires sound judgment, strong communication, and the ability to balance corporate standards with the needs of individual franchise locations.

Qualifications

Applicants should have substantial experience in human resources leadership, preferably supporting a multi-site, franchise, or distributed workforce. A degree or diploma in human resources, business administration, or a related discipline is preferred, along with relevant professional HR credentials where applicable. Candidates should demonstrate a strong working knowledge of employment standards, human rights requirements, occupational health and safety obligations, and employee benefit administration. The role calls for proven experience leading and developing HR professionals, managing recruitment and performance programs, conducting compliance reviews, and interpreting HR metrics. Excellent communication, relationship-building, organization, and problem-solving skills are essential. The successful candidate will be comfortable advising owners and leaders, managing sensitive employee matters, and handling confidential information with discretion. The ability to travel to franchise locations and community events may be required.

Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and evaluate HR strategies, policies, and operating procedures that support corporate objectives and franchise needs. Lead, train, mentor, and assess corporate HR specialists and administrative staff who provide services to franchise units. Direct recruitment frameworks and nationwide talent acquisition initiatives, and establish standardized onboarding practices to help new employees integrate effectively. Coordinate training and development programs that build consistent skills across locations, and advise franchise owners on individual and team development. Create and maintain performance appraisal systems appropriate for franchise employees, while fostering constructive relationships between corporate and franchise teams.

Establish effective communication channels for employee questions and concerns, and guide owners in resolving workplace matters appropriately. Administer and communicate employee benefit programs, respond to benefit-related inquiries, and help ensure franchise practices align with corporate guidelines. Direct compliance programs and conduct routine audits to assess adherence to applicable provincial and federal employment requirements, human rights codes, corporate standards, and occupational health and safety regulations. Identify risks and recommend timely corrective actions, including improvements to workplace safety. Oversee centralized HR records and databases, maintain reliable documentation, and prepare reports on workforce metrics and trends to inform strategic decisions. Provide dedicated HR support for franchise expansion and ongoing development, represent OMAC Martial Arts at franchise community events, and build productive relationships with relevant franchise associations and stakeholders.

Benefits

OMAC Martial Arts offers the opportunity to shape HR practices across a growing franchise network and contribute to the development of employees and franchise locations. The role provides meaningful collaboration with corporate leaders and franchise owners, along with the opportunity to build scalable programs and support organizational growth. Details regarding compensation, paid time off, and other benefits will be discussed during the recruitment process.

Equal Opportunity

OMAC Martial Arts is committed to providing an inclusive and respectful workplace. Employment decisions are made in accordance with applicable laws and without discrimination on grounds protected by law. Candidates who require accommodation during the recruitment process are encouraged to notify the hiring team.
