About The Role
As a Senior Developer in Data Engineering within the Financial Crime and Regulatory Projects team at National Bank, you will serve as a Data Analytics Specialist responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced data solutions. Your expertise will play a crucial role in modernizing our data platforms, enhancing data assets, and supporting the bank's analytical and operational capabilities. You will work on complex data models, build high-performance data pipelines, and implement data governance protocols to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence data strategy and infrastructure, contributing directly to the bank's efforts in combating financial crime and fulfilling regulatory requirements.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, data modeling, and large-scale data solution development.
- Strong expertise in data design and modeling methodologies, including Data Vault and dimensional modeling approaches.
- Proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing, automation, and optimization.
- Experience with designing and operating data solutions in distributed and cloud environments, particularly AWS, Snowflake, and Terraform.
- Familiarity with collaborative development tools, DevOps practices, automation, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Knowledge of data governance, security, quality management, and data valuation principles.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and project requirements.
Responsibilities
- Define and develop scalable data models and solutions that address the analytical needs of the financial crime and regulatory sectors.
- Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for batch and real-time processing using tools like Kafka, in cloud environments.
- Integrate and automate data flows between various systems and business applications, optimizing processing efficiency through SQL and Python scripting.
- Implement comprehensive governance, control, quality, and security measures to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence the evolution of data strategies, platforms, and infrastructure, promoting best practices in engineering and automation.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives by adopting emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance data solutions.
- Ensure compliance with data security policies and regulatory standards, proactively addressing data-related risks.
