With a rich history of serving diverse client needs, the bank emphasizes integrity, professionalism, and community engagement. Our mission is to foster financial well-being and growth for individuals, businesses, and communities through responsible banking practices and continuous technological advancement.

About The Role

As a Senior Developer in Data Engineering within the Financial Crime and Regulatory Projects team at National Bank, you will serve as a Data Analytics Specialist responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining advanced data solutions. Your expertise will play a crucial role in modernizing our data platforms, enhancing data assets, and supporting the bank's analytical and operational capabilities. You will work on complex data models, build high-performance data pipelines, and implement data governance protocols to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence data strategy and infrastructure, contributing directly to the bank's efforts in combating financial crime and fulfilling regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

A bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
3 to 5 years of relevant experience in data engineering, data modeling, and large-scale data solution development.
Strong expertise in data design and modeling methodologies, including Data Vault and dimensional modeling approaches.
Proficiency in SQL and Python for data processing, automation, and optimization.
Experience with designing and operating data solutions in distributed and cloud environments, particularly AWS, Snowflake, and Terraform.
Familiarity with collaborative development tools, DevOps practices, automation, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of data governance, security, quality management, and data valuation principles.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to evolving technologies and project requirements.

Responsibilities

Define and develop scalable data models and solutions that address the analytical needs of the financial crime and regulatory sectors.
Design, build, and maintain robust data pipelines for batch and real-time processing using tools like Kafka, in cloud environments.
Integrate and automate data flows between various systems and business applications, optimizing processing efficiency through SQL and Python scripting.
Implement comprehensive governance, control, quality, and security measures to safeguard data integrity and confidentiality.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence the evolution of data strategies, platforms, and infrastructure, promoting best practices in engineering and automation.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by adopting emerging technologies and methodologies to enhance data solutions.
Ensure compliance with data security policies and regulatory standards, proactively addressing data-related risks.

Benefits

At National Bank, we offer a competitive compensation package complemented by a comprehensive suite of benefits aimed at supporting your well-being and that of your family. These include a health and wellness program with multiple options, flexible group insurance plans, and a generous pension scheme. Employees are also eligible for our Employee Share Ownership Plan and Employee and Family Assistance Program, providing financial and emotional support. Additional benefits encompass preferential banking services, involvement in community initiatives, telemedicine services, and access to a virtual sleep clinic. We value diversity and are dedicated to providing equal employment opportunities regardless of race, gender, age, disability, ethnicity, or background. We strive to accommodate individuals with disabilities throughout the recruitment process and are happy to provide accommodations upon request.
