About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer specializing in DDI (DNS, DHCP, IP Address Management) platforms to join our Network Engineering & Design division within BMO's Technology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing, managing, designing, and engineering the bank's core network services on a global scale. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex network infrastructures, ensuring high availability, security, and scalability of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM systems. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in enterprise network environments, with a focus on DDI platforms such as Infoblox, BlueCat, or BT/Cygna Labs Diamond IP. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement innovative network solutions that support the bank’s strategic objectives.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 8 years of comprehensive network engineering experience, with at least 5 years dedicated to DDI platform management. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field is required. Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or relevant DDI certifications are preferred. Candidates should demonstrate expertise in DNS architecture, redundancy, and failover mechanisms, particularly with ISC BIND, Microsoft DNS, and other enterprise DNS solutions. Deep knowledge of DHCP fundamentals, including ISC DHCP and Kea, is essential. Hands-on experience with IP management for both IPv4 and IPv6, capacity planning, subnet aggregation, and route summarization is necessary. Familiarity with public and private DNS design, domain management, and security protocols such as DNSSEC, DNS Firewall, and email authentication methods (SPF, DMARC, DKIM) is highly desirable. The candidate should also have experience working with cloud platforms like AWS and Azure, designing hybrid DNS architectures, and managing public IPs and ASN registrations. Strong scripting skills in Python and Bash, proficiency with load balancers, traffic steering, network automation via APIs, routing protocols, and security measures are crucial. Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, and the ability to translate complex technical requirements into effective solutions are vital for success in this role.

- Manage and optimize core network services, including DNS, DHCP, and IP address management, across global infrastructure.
- Develop and enforce standards, procedures, and documentation related to DDI operations and configurations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate DDI solutions with other network and security systems, including cloud environments and CDN providers.
- Perform root cause analysis and troubleshooting of complex network issues, ensuring minimal service disruption.
- Automate network management tasks using scripting languages and APIs to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Support and participate in network capacity planning, scalability assessments, and security enhancements.
- Coordinate with external vendors and internal stakeholders during system upgrades, migrations, and audits.
