Renowned for its commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability, Soucy has established a strong reputation for delivering concrete projects that shape the future. The company fosters a dynamic and collaborative work environment where creativity and technical excellence are highly valued. With a focus on continuous improvement and employee development, Soucy provides opportunities for professionals to grow and make a significant impact within their respective fields.

About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineering Technician to join our team. In this pivotal role, you will oversee multiple large-scale projects, ensuring that each meets the highest standards of quality and safety. You will be responsible for managing projects from conception through to completion, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical expertise to optimize equipment and processes. Your role will involve analyzing project requirements, designing mechanical solutions, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to lead innovative projects that have a tangible impact on our industries and to be recognized as a leader in best practices.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a DEC in Mechanical Engineering with more than five years of experience in a manufacturing environment. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks is essential for designing and modeling mechanical solutions. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, possess a solid understanding of machine safety, and be capable of taking ownership of projects from start to finish. Excellent communication skills are required to explain technical concepts clearly to team members. Fluency in French, both spoken and written, is mandatory. Additionally, familiarity with the MS Office suite and a strong knowledge of safety standards in manufacturing environments will be advantageous. Knowledge of the rubber industry is considered an asset, which can further enhance your contribution to our projects.

Responsibilities

Analyze project requirements and conduct technical studies to develop feasible solutions.
Design, develop, and validate mechanical concepts through research, calculations, and technical analyses.
Create detailed mechanical models and drawings using AutoCAD and SolidWorks software.
Manage engineering projects from initial requirements analysis through procurement, manufacturing, installation, and production launch.
Coordinate with various stakeholders including suppliers, production teams, and management to ensure project milestones are met.
Provide technical support to teams, troubleshooting issues, and contributing to the continuous improvement of equipment and processes.
Diagnose equipment failures, identify root causes, and propose sustainable corrective actions.
Ensure all projects comply with health, safety, quality, and environmental standards throughout their lifecycle.
Maintain documentation and reports related to project progress and technical specifications.

Benefits

At Soucy, we prioritize your well-being and professional growth by offering a comprehensive benefits package. Enjoy flexible work arrangements tailored to your needs, including flexible hours, compressed workweeks, and hybrid remote work options. Our group insurance plans are designed to adapt to your personal circumstances, providing health, dental, and vision coverage. We also offer an RRSP plan with employer contributions to support your financial future. Additional support is available through our Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP) and telemedicine services, ensuring you have access to resources when needed. We recognize your efforts with a $2,000 referral bonus for successfully recommending qualified colleagues to join our team. Our benefits are structured to help you thrive both professionally and personally.

And Even Further

Beyond standard benefits, Soucy is committed to fostering a healthy work-life balance. We provide time off for illness, personal needs, or family reasons, ensuring you have the flexibility to manage your personal commitments. Social activities and team-building events help strengthen connections with colleagues. We support your ongoing professional development through training programs, workshops, and career advancement opportunities. Our health and safety committee actively promotes a safe working environment, prioritizing your well-being every day. Additionally, employees enjoy discounts on Kimpex products, fueling your passion for motorsports and recreational activities, further enriching your experience with us.
