Original job description

Join Olymel, a company committed to innovation, quality, and sustainable growth. We are seeking a Project Manager – R&D to support the development of food products and help turn business opportunities into successful, well-coordinated projects. This role is suited to a food science or engineering professional who enjoys combining scientific rigor, project management, and collaboration across teams.

About The Company

Olymel creates and markets quality food products while working to advance responsible business practices. The company promotes animal welfare, responsible sourcing, and efforts to reduce its environmental impact. It also supports the communities where it operates through initiatives such as “Ensemble on redonne.” At Olymel, employees contribute to a collaborative workplace where innovation, quality, and sustainable growth are important to the organization’s work.

About The Role

Working in collaboration with the Chief of Development Projects – Poultry, the Project Manager – R&D plays a central role in food product development opportunities identified by marketing teams or the commercial strategy department. You will guide projects from initial requirements through development and implementation, following established project charters and management processes.

A scientific, organized, and rigorous approach is essential. You will work to understand and define client expectations, coordinate the people and activities needed to advance each project, and help ensure that quality and food safety requirements are integrated throughout the development process. The role involves regular collaboration with internal and external clients, account managers, the innovation department, technical services, purchasing, operations, factories, and quality teams. Project needs may require varied working hours and travel to multiple factory locations.

Qualifications

The successful candidate has a degree in food science, food engineering, or a related discipline, along with significant experience in food product development. You bring in-depth knowledge of food industry regulations and standards, as well as proficiency in project management processes and tools.

You are able to organize multiple project activities, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and maintain attention to detail while working toward defined objectives. You can interpret client expectations and translate them into practical project requirements. A collaborative approach will help you coordinate effectively with colleagues across technical, commercial, purchasing, operations, factory, and quality functions. Candidates must be able to work varied hours when project requirements call for it and travel to multiple factories.

Responsibilities

Manage a range of food product development projects, monitoring each stage and following Olymel’s established project management structure and project charters. Build and maintain clear, collaborative communication with internal and external clients, account managers, and the innovation department to confirm project needs, expectations, and objectives.

Coordinate closely with technical services, purchasing, and operations to support the activities required for product development. Develop standard operating procedures and product specifications, and work with factory and corporate quality teams to define appropriate monitoring frequencies and help ensure compliance with established standards and specifications. Coordinate the creation of product samples in the laboratory kitchen and at factories. Provide follow-up at local factories and support fellow R&D project managers as required.

Benefits

Olymel offers a competitive annual salary, discussed in relation to your experience, along with a comprehensive compensation package and a range of competitive benefits. Employees can access personalized support for training and skills development, an attractive certification program, and a service recognition program. The company also offers corporate discounts and a close-knit, collaborative work environment where contributions are valued. Career development opportunities allow employees to strengthen their skills and progress professionally while contributing to meaningful projects.

Equal Opportunity

Olymel is committed to providing a respectful and inclusive workplace. Employment decisions are based on qualifications, skills, and business needs. We welcome applications from qualified candidates and encourage individuals who are interested in this opportunity to apply. Thank you for considering Olymel.
